Lead and oversee engineering teams, manage product development, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards. | Requires a B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering, P.E. license or ability to obtain within 12 months, and at least 8 years of precast experience in design and project roles. | Description The Chief Engineer is responsible for leading the technical team of engineers and creating tools and training for the efficient design of our products and systems. The Chief engineer will design, develop, test and maintain the company’s design philosophy of products and systems. They will oversee research, development, documentation, and testing of new technologies while working with cross-functional teams to ensure that products meet client needs and are delivered on time and on budget. Responsibilities • Lead the engineering team by providing guidance, direction, and support to ensure successful, efficient product and structure development and design. • Oversee the design and development of new products, systems and infrastructure, ensuring they meet the company’s quality and safety standards. • As directed develop, plan, and conduct research and development activities to stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies • Manage technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and user manuals. • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety and regulatory requirements. • Manage budgets and timelines to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. • Encourage a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the engineering team. • Document design procedures, philosophy and tools that are developed for proper use and future maintenance. • Disseminate information, maintain a library of information, and host training sessions to ensure an understanding and proper application of knowledge developed. • Perform other duties as directed or required. Skills and Abilities Required • Manage multiple priorities simultaneously. • Self-starter while actively managing and bringing to resolution multiple tasks simultaneously. • Management and coaching principles. • Display calm and a customer-oriented attitude in fast-paced and sometimes stressful conditions and represent the Company in a professional manner. • Ability to think strategically and proactively, anticipate problems, prioritize effectively, and make critical decisions quickly. • Ability to meet timelines, milestones, deliverables and provide timely status updates as identified. • Excellent project management skills, including budget management and timeline tracking. • Strong leadership skills. • Great attention to detail. • Strong communication and people skills to effectively manage the project teams. • Computer Skills – Microsoft Word, Excel, Mathcad, Revit, Autocad, Bluebeam, custom programming is a plus Education/ Experience • B.S. in Civil or Structural Engineering, M.S. in Engineering preferred. • P.E. license required or ability to obtain registration within 12 months. • Minimum 8 years of precast experience in a design and project design role. Qualifications • Proven experience in business development or sales, with a track record of success in the forging, steel, or heavy manufacturing industry . • In-depth knowledge of the U.S. Navy and Nuclear supply chains and procurement processes. • Technical understanding of open-die forgings and how they are used in critical applications. • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills. • Self-starter with the ability to work independently in a remote environment. • Willingness and ability to travel frequently.
