Job Summary and Qualifications The Operating Room Manager ensures high quality, patient-centered care through oversight of the overall daily function and staffing of the unit/department. The Manager monitors and evaluates the provision of nursing care in accordance with established policies/procedures and holds staff accountable for quality and clinical outcomes in support of facility objectives. What you will do in this role: • Supervise licensed and non-licensed personnel as assigned in the acute care setting. • Provide direct and indirect patient care. • Communicate with physicians/director/coordinator/co-workers, as appropriate about changes in patient's clinical condition. • Respond quickly and accurately to changes in condition or response to treatment. • Direct actions toward supervision of nursing care given to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients with surgical services according to nursing principles. • Provide for safe transportation of all patients to and from the surgical services departments. • Seek support from the admissions and PAT departments to facilitate prompt arrival of patients and accumulation of required documentation for all surgical patients. • Review with the director the short and long-term plans, strategies, and systems that identify and utilize available resources to efficiently manage daily operations and accomplish goals/objectives within specific target dates. • Review daily the proposed OR schedule. • Ascertain surgical suite allocation based on surgeon requirements, equipment needs, and functionality. What qualifications you will need: • Associate’s Degree in Nursing or RN Diploma required; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred. • Current licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Tennessee or compact state required. • 3 years of Operating Room RN experience strongly preferred. • 1 year of related clinical leadership experience strongly preferred. • Member of a professional perioperative nurse association and CNOR preferred. • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) required.
