Manage daily transit operations, oversee maintenance and staff, ensure compliance, and coordinate repairs and inspections. | High school diploma or GED, 3+ years transit supervisory experience, knowledge of transit regulations, proficiency with Microsoft Office, and good communication skills. | Operations Manager The Operations Manager reports directly to the General Manager in fulfilling daily operations including but not limited to route supervision, staff and operator supervision, effective communication with internal and external customers and coaching employees for optimal performance, managing the entire operation in the absence of the General Manager, complying with all Company policies and managing the operation within the budgetary plan for the location. This position is based in Columbia, SC in supporting Richland County. Key Responsibilities: Coordinate fleet vehicle repairs and maintenance. Manages staff members in the repair, preventive maintenance, and servicing of heavy trucks, light vehicles, and equipment. Manages maintenance personnel including recommending discipline. Monitors technician performance in a manner consistent with company/location policy. Ensures that all mechanics have the proper licenses and certifications including yard permits. Manages and inspects major, minor, and vendor repairs. Provides technical assistance and on-the-job training to mechanics. Develops work orders and the evaluation of all repairs performed by both the technicians and outside vendors. Assists to ensure DOT compliance and inspections of revenue and service equipment. Other duties to ensure the efficient operation of the maintenance facility. Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent, such as GED, required 3 or more years of relevant transit supervisory experience required Thorough knowledge of transit system regulations and operations. Working knowledge and proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel and relevant database programs Good written and oral communication skills Ability to organize and perform work efficiently; strong attention to details 14 Ability to work effectively with labor; may include labor grievances and negotiations Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
