JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Business Intelligence Developer (Power BI) is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise reporting and analytics solutions that enable data-driven decision-making across the organization. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to define reporting needs, build scalable Power BI dashboards and semantic models, and ensure consistency of KPI definitions, governance, and data integrity. This role drives best practices across data modeling, visualization standards, performance optimization, and self-service enablement. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Power BI Development & Delivery • Design and develop high-quality Power BI reports and dashboards that align to business goals and stakeholder needs. • Translate business requirements into scalable BI solutions, including dashboards, scorecards, KPI tracking, and ad-hoc reporting. • Create and maintain reusable Power BI assets (measure libraries, templates, report standards, certified datasets). Semantic Modeling & Data Design • Develop and maintain Power BI semantic models (datasets) using best practices (star schema, proper relationships, optimized DAX). • Build and optimize DAX measures, calculations, and model performance to ensure fast, reliable reporting experiences. • Partner with Data Engineering and IT teams to define data requirements and improve data quality and accessibility. Data Governance & KPI Standardization • Ensure consistency of KPI definitions, business logic, and metric interpretation across dashboards and stakeholders. • Contribute to and support a structured approach to certified dashboards/datasets, KPI documentation, and reporting governance. • Establish and maintain strong documentation, including metric definitions, refresh cadence, and data lineage. Security, Access, and Compliance • Implement and maintain Row-Level Security (RLS) and access control structures aligned to business and security requirements. • Ensure dashboards follow data handling, privacy, and compliance requirements as defined by internal governance and security teams. Operational Support & Continuous Improvement • Provide production support for BI solutions, including troubleshooting, incident resolution, and continuous enhancement. • Monitor and improve performance, refresh reliability, and user experience. • Identify opportunities to improve efficiency via automation, self-service enablement, and reduction of recurring manual reporting requests. Collaboration & Leadership • Act as a trusted partner to business leaders, supporting prioritization, planning, and reporting roadmap discussions. • Mentor junior BI developers/analysts and support standardization of development practices across the team. • Contribute to process maturity, including intake/triage, requirements definition, and delivery best practices. Required Qualifications: • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, reporting, analytics, or a related discipline. • 3+ years of strong hands-on experience with Power BI, including: • Data modeling and dataset design • DAX development and optimization • Power Query transformations • Report performance tuning • Experience gathering requirements and translating them into scalable reporting solutions. • Strong understanding of relational data concepts and reporting design patterns (star schemas, facts/dimensions). • Ability to work across technical and business stakeholders and communicate clearly at multiple levels. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. This position will reduce cyber risk by uncovering vulnerabilities and weaknesses in our client’s enterprise cyber environment through coordinated ethical hacking and penetration testing scenarios. The Engineer will work closely with team members to execute and report on sophisticated ethical hacking exercises, to identify cyber vulnerabilities and reduce the risk posture of enterprise systems.
