What You’ll Do: Technical Mentorship & Delivery Mentor a team of developers (prioritization, quality gates, code reviews, pairing, mentoring) and drive predictable delivery Remain hands-on in the codebase, designing, implementing, and reviewing features and fixes using Java, Spring Boot, Blaze (rules engine), and established RESTful/GraphQL integration patterns. JOB SUMMARY: Trace3 is seeking a highly skilled Data/Business Intelligence Solution Architect to join our Data & Analytics Solutions practice. This senior-level, client-facing role will act as a trusted advisor and technical leader, guiding clients in the design, implementation, and optimization of modern business intelligence and observability solutions. With a deep focus on platforms such as Splunk, IT Service Intelligence (ITSI), and User Experience Monitoring (UEM), you will drive the development of scalable data architectures that support advanced analytics, service performance visibility, and operational intelligence. You will collaborate closely with clients, account teams, and delivery engineers to translate business goals into data-driven solutions that enhance IT operations, digital experience, and decision-making capabilities. This role combines pre-sales expertise with post-sales architecture guidance to ensure consistent, measurable value delivery from concept through execution. SUMMARY OF ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Partner with Sales and Account Management teams to identify and pursue data-focused client opportunities. Lead client discovery sessions to understand business and operational goals and translate them into data architecture and analytics solutions. Design and architect end-to-end Business Intelligence and IT observability solutions leveraging platforms such as: Splunk (Core, Enterprise Security, and ITSI) User Experience Monitoring tools (e.g., Catchpoint, AppDynamics, Dynatrace) Cloud-native observability and monitoring platforms (e.g., AWS CloudWatch, Azure Monitor, Google Cloud Operations Suite) Support pre-sales initiatives including architectural design sessions, proof-of-concepts, RFP responses, and solution demos. Architect integrations that unify logs, metrics, and traces into centralized observability dashboards and alerting frameworks. Deliver performance analytics, business insights, and data visualizations tailored for IT and business stakeholders. Provide architectural guidance on data ingestion, normalization, correlation, and enrichment strategies. Support clients in implementing KPIs, service health scores, and predictive analytics using platforms such as Splunk ITSI. Ensure alignment between data architectures and broader digital transformation, IT operations, and cloud strategies. Serve as a technical mentor and coach for junior engineers and consultants on the Data & Analytics team. REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or equivalent experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field. 8+ years of experience in data architecture, business intelligence, or IT operations analytics, including at least 3 years in a client-facing solution architecture role. Strong expertise in Splunk architecture, including ITSI and Enterprise Security modules. Experience designing observability solutions that incorporate User Experience Monitoring, synthetic testing, and real user monitoring. Strong grasp of event correlation, anomaly detection, and machine learning applications in monitoring environments. Proven ability to translate business requirements into scalable, data-driven architectures. Familiarity with cloud-native data services (AWS, Azure, GCP) and hybrid infrastructure monitoring. Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to explain complex data concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience working with enterprise clients and navigating complex organizational environments. Excellent time management, organization, and multitasking skills in a fast-paced consulting environment. Passion for emerging technologies and continuous improvement in data observability, automation, and business insight delivery. Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors, including location, experience, skill set, performance, licensure and certification, and business needs. The range for this position in other geographic locations may differ. Certain positions may also be eligible for variable incentive compensation, such as bonuses or commissions, that is not included in the base salary.
