The Medical Underwriting Assistant II reviews specific case diagnoses referred by the Underwriting staff for high-risk diagnosis coding and refers these cases to the Medical Underwriting Nurse. They also track and maintain documentation while liaising between Underwriting and Nursing staff. | Candidates must have a minimum of a High School diploma or GED and 2 years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities: Receive, log, and tracks all specific case diagnoses referred by Underwriting staff and ensure all cases are reviewed in appropriate priority order. Review all submitted cases for high-risk diagnoses and select those that the Medical Underwriting Nurse should review for assessment of associated risk. Follow up and maintain all appropriate documentation. Liaise between Underwriting staff and Nursing staff.
