Manage end-to-end supply planning and vendor relationships to ensure inventory integrity and operational efficiency. | Requires 5-8 years supply planning experience, strong analytical and vendor management skills, and ability to lead process improvements. | About Thrive Market Thrive Market was founded in 2014 with a mission to make healthy and sustainable living easy and affordable for everyone. As an online, membership-based market, we deliver the highest quality healthy, and sustainable products at member-only prices, while matching every paid membership with a free one for someone in need. Every day, we leverage innovative technology and member-first thinking to help our over 1,700,000+ members find better products, support better brands, and build a better world in the process. We are also a Certified B Corporation, a Public Benefit Corporation, and a Climate Neutral Certified company. Join us as we bring healthy and sustainable living to millions of Americans in the years to come THE ROLE As a Senior Supply Planner at Thrive Market, you own the supply chain integrity for a complex category or vendor portfolio — and you're accountable for outcomes, not just execution. You bring the analytical depth to diagnose systemic inventory problems, the vendor credibility to drive supplier accountability, and the cross-functional fluency to influence decisions upstream before they become downstream disruptions. You operate with minimal oversight, lead process improvement that scales beyond your category, and serve as a subject matter resource for planners at earlier career stages. Responsibilities • Own end-to-end replenishment strategy and purchase order execution across a high-volume vendor set, including promotions, seasonal builds, and new product launches — with accountability for inventory turns, in-stock rates, and shrink outcomes. • Lead and monitor in-stock performance: surface OOS risk early, own escalation decisions, and drive resolution through both internal and external channels before member experience is affected. • Own vendor relationships: negotiating corrective action plans, and managing scorecards with a clear point of view on where supplier performance is acceptable versus where it requires structural remediation. • Serve as a strategic cross-functional partner to Category Management, Merchandising, Marketing, Finance, and FC Operations — bringing supply-side perspective into promotional planning, launch sequencing, and inventory investment decisions. • Lead process improvement initiatives with measurable operational impact: identify systemic inefficiencies, design solutions, and see them through implementation — including active contribution to Thrive Market's planning automation and system modernization roadmap. • Mentor Supply Planners, providing guidance on analytical methods, vendor management, and decision-making frameworks; contribute to team skill development and operational consistency. • Own stakeholder reporting for your category — translating inventory and in-stock data into clear narratives with explicit recommendations, not just summaries. Requirements • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Economics, Finance, or a related analytical field. • 5–8 years of experience in supply planning, replenishment, inventory management, or a closely related analytically driven role, with demonstrated progression in scope and complexity — preferably in retail, e-commerce, or distribution. • Hands-on experience with BI tools (Domo, Snowflake, or equivalent); able to independently design and build reporting infrastructure, not just pull existing reports. • Advanced Excel skills including dynamic modeling, scenario analysis, and multi-variable forecasting; familiarity with planning systems or ERP tools is a strong plus. • Demonstrated ability to own vendor relationships at a senior level — including leading performance conversations, managing escalations, and driving supplier accountability on service level commitments. • Track record of leading process improvement initiatives from identification through implementation, with measurable outcomes. • Strong communicator who can translate complex inventory analysis into executive-ready narratives with clear recommendations — comfortable presenting to senior leadership and representing supply planning in high-stakes cross-functional discussions. • Experience mentoring or developing junior team members, formally or informally. • Comfortable operating in ambiguous, fast-evolving environments — particularly as planning systems, data infrastructure, and automation tools continue to develop. Belong To a Better Company • Comprehensive health benefits (medical, dental, vision, life and disability) • Competitive salary (DOE) + equity • 401k Employer Match • 9 Days of Observed Holidays • Flexible Paid Time Off • Subsidized ClassPass Membership with access to fitness classes and wellness and beauty experiences • Ability to work in our beautiful office in Playa Vista • Free Thrive Market membership with exclusive employee discount • Coverage for Life Coaching & Therapy Sessions on our holistic mental health and well-being platform We're a community of more than 1 Million + members who are united by a singular belief: It should be easy to find better products, support better brands, make better choices, and build a better world in the process. We are also a Certified B Corporation, a Public Benefit Corporation, and a Climate Neutral Certified company. Join us as we bring healthy and sustainable living to millions of Americans in the years to come. THE ROLE We are seeking a senior, single-threaded Program Manager to own network capacity management and near term capacity enabling initiatives. This role is responsible for maximizing the utilization of our fulfillment network, refining capacity and throughput models, and leading high impact operational programs tied to delivery speed, predictability, and the enablement of key commercial objectives. This leader will operate at a strategic and executional level, translating complex data into clear decisions, aligning senior stakeholders, and driving measurable outcomes across the network. The Sr. Program Manager will be recognized as a subject matter expert in capacity strategy and will own programs that materially impact cost, service, and growth. This is a specialist role, not a generalist PM function — the successful candidate will own the logic, frameworks, and models that others in the organization rely on to operate. Responsibilities • Capacity strategy ownership: Define and own the end-to-end capacity management strategy across the fulfillment network, including storage, labor, and throughput constraints. • Logic and framework ownership: Own the logic layer of capacity management — including the decision rules, slotting frameworks, replenishment logic, and analytical models that others across the organization rely on to plan and operate. • Model development and refinement: Build and continuously improve capacity, throughput, and scenario models to inform near-term and long-range planning decisions. Models should be independently built and maintained by this role, not delegated. • Program leadership: Lead complex, cross-functional capacity initiatives with significant business impact, including changes to customer promise and other major operating levers. • Decision support: Translate analytical insights into clear recommendations for senior leadership, balancing cost, service, risk, and scalability. • Network optimization: Identify and prioritize high-leverage opportunities to unlock latent capacity through process changes, tooling, policy adjustments, or reconfiguration. • Automation and capital projects: Partner with Engineering and Operations on automation initiatives and CapEx-backed projects; provide analytical grounding for investment decisions and ensure operational integration is planned and executed effectively. • Execution oversight: Partner with Operations and corporate teams to ensure capacity programs are implemented effectively and deliver intended results. • Stakeholder alignment: Create strong operating mechanisms, forums, and narratives that align diverse teams around shared capacity goals and trade-offs. • Measurement and accountability: Define success metrics, track performance against plan, and hold teams accountable for outcomes that impact the broader network. QUALIFICIATIONS • Bachelor's degree in Operations, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field. • 8+ years of relevant experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience consistent with a senior-level role. • Direct fulfillment center experience, including hands-on ownership of slotting and replenishment logic in an operational environment — not adjacent supply chain or logistics planning roles. • Experience working with automation systems and robotics platforms, including familiarity with the technical and operational constraints they introduce. • Demonstrated ability to independently build capacity, labor, and throughput models from the ground up — not consume or inherit models built by others. • Experience with CapEx planning and automation investment decisions, including business case development and project execution oversight. • Proficiency with large, complex operational datasets; ability to structure, clean, and draw conclusions from raw data without analyst support. Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills required; SQL or Python a strong plus. • Demonstrated experience leading large, ambiguous, cross-functional programs with material business impact. • Ability to operate independently with sound judgment on highly complex issues. • Strong executive communication skills, including the ability to influence and persuade senior leaders. • Proven ability to create structure in ambiguous problem spaces and drive results through others. • Experience in e-commerce, high-volume fulfillment, or large-scale distribution operations strongly preferred. Own and evolve scalable, reliable pod systems while mentoring the team and collaborating with Product and Design. | 5+ years building high-traffic customer-facing systems with strong CS fundamentals and fluency in cloud eventing and orchestration, comfortable with PHP/Magento and React/Next on AWS. Join us as we bring healthy and sustainable living to millions of Americans in the years to come. ABOUT THRIVE MARKET At Thrive Market, Product Engineering builds the systems members touch every day, from the home page through checkout, account, and renewal. You'll work closely with Product, Design, and Data to ship features that drive real outcomes for our members and the business. We are not looking for a programmer or a language specialist, we are looking for an engineer. Someone with strong CS fundamentals, great OO, great relational data modeling, and a systems mindset. Someone who reaches for architecture, patterns, and platforms before they reach for syntax, and who picks the right tool for the job rather than the one they know best. Communication is concise and high-level; orientation is big-picture without losing the details that matter. RESPONSIBILITIES: Own the architecture and evolution of your pod's systems end-to-end. Make system-level calls on when to introduce eventing (Kafka, SQS), workflow orchestration (Temporal, Airflow, DAGs), caching, async pipelines, or new services, and when not to. Design for horizontal scale and low, uniform latency under real Thrive traffic patterns. Decompose existing services into scalable components where it materially helps; avoid decomposition for its own sake. ie engineering decisions to outcomes. Instrument what you build; defend what you ship with data. Test-driven from the start. Quality, reliability, and observability are first-class, not afterthoughts. Bring Product and Design options and a recommendation, not a single path. Raise the bar on the team's architectural and systems thinking: mentor, review, challenge, elevate. Own the SLAs for the surfaces your pod runs. QUALIFICATIONS 5+ years building and operating high-traffic, customer-facing systems. Strong CS fundamentals. Strong object-oriented design. Strong relational database design and reasoning. Fluency at the system and cloud level: eventing (Kafka, SNS, SQS), workflow orchestration (Temporal, Airflow, DAGs), distributed systems tradeoffs, caching, async pipelines, idempotency, backpressure. Comfort working across multiple languages and stacks; language is a tool, not an identity. Our stack today includes PHP/Magento on the backend and React/Next on the frontend, on AWS; the right hire is comfortable moving between layers. Working knowledge of AWS (Lambda, S3, CloudWatch, SQS, etc.) and clear reasoning about tradeoffs between relational, document, and wide-column stores. Track record of shipping high-impact, customer-facing features in production at scale. Communicates concisely and at the right altitude; defaults to options + recommendation, not exhaustive detail. Big-picture orientation. Reasons about systems and outcomes; does not get lost in syntax. Member-first. Prioritizes Customer, Team, and Business consistently. Observability and monitoring experience (New Relic, Datadog, or similar) to maintain SLA, Apdex, and error rate.
