Job Summary Responsible for business product management in the development of new products and services, refining existing products and services, and providing support to the field and home office partners as SME for assigned product and service lines. Collaborates with and influences stakeholders, vendors, and senior leaders to ensure strategic alignment. Will be a key resource for all product projects and may need to perform as project manager in development and implementation of small to moderate scope product projects. PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES / ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Conducts market analysis to inform product strategy, build business cases, and maintain deep knowledge of customers, competitors, and industry trends. Supports sales and marketing through product training, content expertise, campaign development, and representing the organization at industry events. Manages and enhances assigned products by identifying improvements, overseeing maintenance activities, and serving as a subject matter expert across internal and external partners. Leads and collaborates on cross‑functional projects to align product objectives, ensure information flow, and assess organizational impacts on people, technology, and workflow. May serve as project manager for product and service development initiatives of small to moderate scope. Skills and Background You’ll Need Education: Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing or related field required; industry designation (i.e. CLU, RHU, CEBS) preferred. Experience: 5+ years of group insurance experience, product management experience, or underwriting related experience. Working knowledge of voluntary/worksite products (i.e. critical illness, accident/hospital indemnity, life, and disability). The actual compensation for this role will be based on a combination of education and experience, knowledge and skills, position budget, internal equity, and market data. Job Summary The Standard is seeking a Director, Presale Operations (AH) to oversee the strategic direction and management of the Presale business area. In this role, you will ensure that RFP and Proposal requests for all products are responded to in an accurate and prompt manner. The Director will collaborate with key stakeholders in all major business areas (including Underwriting, Actuary, and Sales) to manage workflows & processes, and deliver competitive, comprehensive, and accurate RFPs and Proposals. The Director will lead the entire Presale team operations; from intake, quoting, and RFPs to testing, peer reviews and new technology to support the presale process. This role is dedicated to upholding best practices and maintaining operational excellence by driving a streamlined, high-quality internal process for delivering timely presale support. Your experience with Life & Supplemental Health products will be highly sought after. Other Key Responsibilities: • Conflict Resolution: Recognize and address conflicts between departments to produce timely and accurate proposal responses. • Talent Development & Performance Management: Develop a talent pipeline to ensure adequate resources are available to meet customer demands and business cycles. Monitor workflow and manage team performance, addressing issues and conflicts constructively. Develop and maintain robust training programs to enable employees to manage varying levels of complexity.
