Manage renewable energy environmental compliance projects from pre-construction through construction and early-stage operations, including monitoring site conditions and coordinating with agencies and contractors. | 3-5 years of environmental science or engineering experience with demonstrated project management and environmental compliance knowledge in renewable energy or related industries. | The Opportunity Tetra Tech is adding a highly motivated and experienced Environmental Compliance Project Manager to join our expanding renewable energy compliance and site restoration team. This team supports upland and riparian site revegetation and restoration, environmental compliance monitoring, and restoration science activities as part of construction, restoration, and compliance for renewable energy projects. The Environmental Compliance Project Manager will manage renewable energy environmental compliance projects from pre-construction through construction and into early-stage operations. Your Role • Project manager for pre-construction and construction compliance support for utility-scale energy projects. • Monitor site conditions and oversee, manage, and monitor revegetation and restoration contractors in the field. • Coordinate with agencies, technical teams, and contractors to provide technical deliverables. • Support public outreach and understand state and county land use law code requirements. • Communicate frequently and effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, team members, and the public. • Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards. • Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness. • Work in a safe manner at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns. • Additional duties as required. Qualifications • B.S. in Science or Engineering (Restoration Ecology, Soils, Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, etc.) preferred. • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of experience • Preference for experience within the renewable energy, oil and gas, or transmission industries. • Demonstrated experience with environmental construction, compliance monitoring, or site restoration/revegetation. • Demonstrated understanding of restoration ecology and environmental compliance requirements during construction. • Demonstrated experience in project management. • Ability to communicate effectively with agency staff, clients, team members, subcontractors, and construction personnel. • Understanding of permitting processes, requirements, and conditions. • Ability to work independently and communicate clearly while working closely with team members across other offices. • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions. Pay Range: $130,000 – $170,000 annually Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position. Your Role Process engineers are involved in all phases of the project cycle, heavily loaded at the beginning phases (FEL1/2/3) where they help select technologies for the project and provide the roadmap of the project for the rest of the disciplines. They follow the design through detailed design and at times can follow the project into the construction, commissioning, and start-up phases of a project. Process engineers are responsible to ensure the facility design will function as intended with an emphasis to ensure the design is safe. They oversee the development of the PFDs/H&MB/P&IDs on a project, create a process simulation, size equipment and lines, participate in PHA/HAZOPs, size PSVs, provide conditions of service to various engineering disciplines and interact with the clients to ensure the needs of the project are met. Process engineers are an essential role of the design team and work with project management and all disciplines to provide a successful design for our clients. Job Responsibilities • Ability to lead a discipline engineering team on projects with some guidance; supervise design personnel and other staff specialists. • Review and check designs; assists in the development of design guides, guide specifications and design control procedures. • Serve as the lead Engineer or technical expert on small to medium projects. Planning and managing the engineering activities on a project. • Maintaining the schedule and budget of assigned projects. • Conducting engineering tasks while supervising work for a small team of engineers assigned to a project. • Performs engineering calculations and develops analysis models for projects with minimal supervision. • Mentor less experienced engineers, designers and drafters. • Interface with other disciplines, vendors, clients and contractors. • Prepares specifications detailing performance requirements, specific components, design requirements, applicable design codes, and vendor drawing requirements. • Visit vendor facilities and jobsites as necessary. • Prepare inquiry and purchase requisitions, bid tabulations on simple purchases, and reviews vendor drawings for compliance with specifications. • Demonstrate a focus on least cost, safe design. Qualifications • Required: ABET accredited Institution, BS in Chemical Engineering or higher. • Required: PE license • Minimum 7-10 years of experience in engineering: field experience, experience working in the oil and gas industry (preferred) or onshore gas processing, hydrocarbon storage and transportation, chemical manufacturing, or refining. • Experience as the lead engineer on small to medium multi-discipline projects preferred. • HYSYS/Promax/VMG Symmetry process simulation software experience preferred. • Experience providing process safety engineering advice for quantified risk assessments, assessment of safety instrumented systems, alarm management, preliminary risk assessment, and layer of protection analysis. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively with others to meet shared objectives • Proficient in Microsoft office- especially Microsoft excel • Bluebeam experience is a plus • Ability to work in a fast-paced project environment and manage multiple tasks. Target Salary Range: $95,000 to $110,000.
