Support deployment, integration, and operational readiness of a COTS software product, coordinating across technical teams and ensuring system security and compliance. | Requires 5+ years of broad technical experience in networking, servers, virtualization, identity management, and system integration, with specific skills in SQL Server, APIs, and security. | Responsibilities Technica Corporation is seeking a Systems Engineer to support the deployment, integration, and operational readiness of a Commercial Off‑The‑Shelf (COTS) software product. This role will play a key part in evaluating the solution in a test environment, coordinating integration activities across multiple technical teams, and ensuring a smooth transition into production. This position is based on receiving customer funding. The ideal candidate brings a broad technical foundation, strong communication skills, and a hands‑on approach to problem solving. This engineer will work closely with networking, server, security, and application teams to ensure the system is implemented securely, efficiently, and in alignment with mission objectives. Key Responsibilities Understand and assist with the installation, configuration, and validation of the COTS software product in test and production environments. Coordinate integration activities with cross‑functional teams, including networking, server/VM administrators, identity and access management, and application owners. Evaluate system requirements, dependencies, and integration points to ensure compatibility and operational readiness. Understand, communicate, support and coordinate support activities including; Networking - such as ports, protocols, firewalls, and load balancers as required for system connectivity. Compute - such as server and virtual machine provisioning, configuration, and performance tuning. Database - collaborate with database teams to configure, query, and troubleshoot Microsoft SQL Server instances. Identity and Access – authentication and authorization mechanisms including single sign on and possess knowledge of Microsoft Entra ID. Integration - work with APIs and integration frameworks, including Microsoft Graph, to support data exchange and system interoperability. Assist in preparing documentation required for system accreditation, compliance, and security assessments. Develop and maintain technical documentation, including installation guides, configuration baselines, and operational procedures. Provide hands‑on troubleshooting and issue resolution throughout testing and deployment phases. Communicate project status, risks, and technical considerations clearly to stakeholders and leadership. The position would be located at a government facility in Washington, D.C. and require work to be performed onsite. Any hybrid work schedule would require customer approval. The government has established policies for on-site vs hybrid work which varies across divisions and contracts. Where allowed, remote work must be coordinated with the team lead and/or government POC, ensuring there is zero interruption with the delivery of our services. Requirements Active Top-Secret Clearance with SCI and CI Poly eligibility Bachelors in Engineering or other technical field, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience 5 years of broad technical experience across networking, servers, virtualization, identity management, and system integration Strong understanding of ports, protocols, firewalls, and network connectivity troubleshooting Experience with Windows and/or Linux server environments and virtual machine platforms (e.g., VMware, Hyper‑V) Solid understanding of relational database concepts and hands‑on experience with Microsoft SQL Server Working knowledge of authentication and identity services, including Microsoft Entra ID Familiarity with APIs, RESTful services, and integration concepts Understanding of system accreditation, compliance frameworks, or security assessment processes. About the Role Technica Corporation is seeking a Customer/Client Engagement Manager (Federal Programs) to partner with our Program Managers and leadership team to deepen customer trust, strengthen satisfaction, and enable program growth and expansion across our federal portfolio. This is a new and evolving role designed for an experienced GovCon professional who thrives at the intersection of customer engagement, operational insight, and strategic growth enablement. The individual in this role will help define how Technica institutionalizes customer intimacy-turning strong delivery into customer advocacy, high CPARS outcomes, and follow-on work. This position is a peer partner to Program Managers, focused on ensuring customer relationships are intentional, proactive, and aligned with mission success and long-term contract growth. The position will be located in Sterling, VA and may support a hybrid work schedule. The final approved work schedule arrangement will be coordinated with the hiring manager. This position may require travel of 10-20%.
