Lead and develop warehouse, logistics, fleet, and delivery operations to ensure efficiency, safety, and customer satisfaction. | 7+ years of senior leadership experience in logistics or warehouse management, managing large teams, with knowledge of fleet operations, safety regulations, and operational systems. | Director of Operations – Los Angeles Taylor Creative Inc., a leading company specializing in modern furniture rental for the special events industry, has a full-time Director of Operations position available at our Los Angeles location. The Director of Operations will lead all warehouse, logistics, fleet, and delivery operations, oversee day-to-day execution, and drive accountability, compliance, and operational discipline. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong situational awareness, decisiveness, and the ability to respond effectively in a fast-moving, 24/7 operating environment. The role is critical to enforcing standards, strengthening culture, developing talent, and delivering consistent customer outcomes across more than 2,000 pickups and deliveries per year. Credentials and Experience • 7+ years of senior leadership experience in warehouse, logistics, fleet, or distribution environments, managing large teams (80+ employees). • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience; operations management or related field preferred. • Proven experience managing fleet operations, including oversight of: • Up to ~25 box trucks (26 ft), both rental and company-owned • Tractor-trailers (owned and/or leased) • Driver scheduling, routing, maintenance coordination, and compliance • Direct experience working with drivers and trucking operations, including performance management and accountability. • Strong working knowledge of DOT regulations, OSHA compliance, and safety enforcement. • Experience leading distribution operations not specific to a single product, with the ability to quickly adapt operational best practices across industries. • Experience with inventory management systems and operational tracking tools. • Experience with project management or workflow systems (e.g., Salesforce or similar platforms). • Prior experience at the Director level, with the ability to lead firmly while remaining approachable. • Experience in rental-based businesses (furniture, equipment, event rentals) is a plus, but not required. • Proven ability to operate effectively in a 24/7 operational environment, including responding to urgent, after-hours issues. Duties and Responsibilities • Lead, hire, develop, and hold accountable warehouse, logistics, fleet, and driver teams. • Build, reinforce, and sustain a strong operations culture aligned with company values, accountability, and performance expectations. • Enforce company policies, safety standards, fleet protocols, and operational procedures consistently and fairly. • Maintain active daily awareness of warehouse, fleet, and delivery operations, proactively identifying risks, gaps, and improvement opportunities. • Drive urgency, follow-through, and execution across all operational functions. • Lead operational improvements and change initiatives with site-level and cross-functional impact. • Build and execute productivity, staffing, and fleet utilization plans through forecasting and workload planning. • Oversee safety, quality, inventory accuracy, fleet readiness, and customer delivery commitments. • Maintain an effective performance management and development process, including identifying skill gaps, mentoring leaders, and building or supporting programs that promote employee growth and succession. • Serve as an escalation point for operational disruptions, including outside standard business hours. • Balance strategic leadership with hands-on involvement when operational conditions require it.
