Job Description: Windows Systems Analyst Role Summary : As a Windows systems analyst, your primary responsibility will be using your knowledge of Windows systems to support and contribute to Sun Life Financial global IT infrastructure by: • Implementing routine and complex technical fixes on Windows Servers • Act as an escalation point and subject matter expert to technical team resources • Recommending technical fixes, planning for routine changes including appropriate documentation and performing standard validations • Working with infrastructure teams to support, troubleshoot, monitor, repair routine issues and other day-to-day tasks associated with maintaining the stability, availability, and reliability of Wintel server environments • Working with colleagues, taking ownership of tasks, server builds, incidents, and client requests • Act as lead technical consultant providing knowledge to configure, maintain, and continuously improve server, and system performance Competencies: • Strong and proven support experience with a customer service focus • Strong Change Management background and adherence to incident, problem and change process to Implement and execute approved changes • Extensive operating systems experience working within a Windows server environment • Ability to successfully work within a results driven team and organization with a strong emphasis on collaboration and building trustworthy relationships • Participation in on-call rotation for production support and after hours implementations as required • Expectation to assess risk, raise flags and demonstrate caution while leading and maintaining a production environment • Ability to work in a fast paced environment, adapt to changing priorities and communicate with various level of staff in ES • The ability to exercise judgement and communicate effectively technical requirements in a large forum Experience / Skill Requirements • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant IT experience • Strong Verbal and written communication, problem solving and troubleshooting skills • Experience with MS Windows 2022 and 2025 Operating Systems, MS Cluster Services, HA, DFS, FTP, File and Print Sharing, Security Patching, File Server Migration • Computer Science degree, Technical Diploma, or equivalent work experience, along with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in an infrastructure support role • Experience with SCCM, Crowdstrike, , Power Shell, Dell Open Manage Enterprise, MS Security Patching and Vulnerability remediation is preferred • Experience with ESX VMWare, VROps, Cloud Computing, MS HyperV, Software Deployment to server environment is considered an asset • Experience with server hardware currency, Firmware rollout, hardware governance, and hardware vendor management experience is an asset • Familiarity with Lenovo SR650 and Dell R760 and understanding of Data Centre environment, cabling, racking of servers Unique Requirements: As a condition of the role, the successful candidate must obtain a Government of Canada Reliability Status security clearance through Sun Life. The position is accountable for bringing all customer issues to resolution accurately, efficiently and in full communication to all appropriate individuals and teams at Sun Life. You will partner with various stakeholders such as the payroll department, human resources, benefits department, managers, and other personnel as needed to field questions and provide training/information regarding the services for the Client.
