Lead strategic planning and optimization of accessory inventory network while managing a team to align supply with business goals. | Bachelor's degree with 10-12 years experience in forecasting, planning, distribution; MBA preferred; proficiency in planning systems and strong communication skills required. | SUMMARY Leads the strategic planning and optimization of Subaru of America's accessory inventory network, directing a team of Inventory Planners and collaborating cross-functionally to align inventory investment, supply flow, and operational execution with business objectives. Drives planning processes, systems, and inventory strategies that enhance customer experience, support sales growth, maximize profitability, and ensure the efficient distribution of accessories across Regional Distribution Centers, port facilities, independent distributors, and export operations. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES * Lead, develop, and manage a team of Inventory Planners and a Planning Analyst. Establish departmental priorities, performance objectives, succession plans, and talent development strategies. Build organizational planning capability through coaching, mentoring, and performance management while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. * Develop and execute national inventory strategies that balance inventory investment, product availability, service levels, and operational efficiency. Define inventory planning policies, stocking strategies, allocation methodologies, and replenishment approaches to optimize inventory productivity and working capital performance. Lead strategic inventory reviews and planning initiatives that support business growth and inventory optimization. * Serve as the primary planning leader and subject matter expert for accessories inventory strategy. Partner with Product Development, Finance, Distribution, IT, and Supply Chain stakeholders to drive alignment, resolve business challenges, and support organizational objectives. Present strategic recommendations and insights to senior leadership. * Direct forecasting and inventory planning processes to support business growth, changing market conditions, and customer demand. Guide development of long-range forecasts, inventory plans, and scenario analyses that improve planning accuracy and decision-making. * Lead inventory planning activities supporting new product introductions, model launches, product transitions, and end-of-life inventory strategies. Ensure inventory readiness while minimizing excess inventory and obsolescence risk throughout the product lifecycle. * Establish inventory risk management strategies and oversee the identification, escalation, and mitigation of supply risks. Lead contingency planning efforts to ensure inventory availability, business continuity, and achievement of customer service objectives. * Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance planning processes, reporting capabilities, systems functionality, and analytical tools. Partner with IT and business stakeholders to drive automation, planning system enhancements, and data-driven decision making. * Monitor and drive performance against key inventory, service, and forecasting metrics. Partner with Finance to optimize inventory investment, improve working capital performance, and ensure inventory governance and compliance with internal controls. ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES * Works with IT and various business units to develop reporting and system tools to drive efficiency and collaboration. * Conducts daily review of high-priority or assigned stock keeping units (SKUs) in support of active issue management and backorder reduction. REQUIRED SKILLS & PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS * Clear understanding of the order-to-fulfillment cycle and basic supply chain strategies and tactics. * Effective written and verbal communication skills enabling communication across all levels of the organization, from the executive team to warehouse associates. * Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with time-sensitive tasks. * Ability to collaborate extensively with numerous cross-functional departments. * Out-of-the box thinking style for continuous process improvements. * Ability to effectively multi-task. * Knowledge of production manufacturing and port operations. * Advanced skills in Microsoft Office and parts planning system experience – Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Kinaxis, Oracle, BlueYonder, Xelus or similar. * Excellent project and vendor management skills. * APICS Certified in Planning and Inventory Management (CPIM) Certification, upon Hire preferred and APICS Certified in Supply Chain Certification (CSCP) Certification, upon Hire Preferred  EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree and Master's Degree Master's  in Business Administration (MBA) preferred. with 10-12 years of work experience in all aspects of forecasting, planning, accessory sales, and/or distrubtion required. WORK EXPERIENCE  * Office Location: Camden, NJ apart of the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philly) * Hybrid Role: Hybrid Role - Remote work 2 days per week (after 90 days) [Wednesdays & Fridays] * Travel: 20% Domestic COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $120,000 - $155,000 / year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Works closely with strategic railroad partners and auto hauling partners, acting as the lead on negotiations, contracting, RFPs, and the overall network performance. Primary Responsibilities * Develops and implements a long-term strategic direction for Subaru of America’s (SOA’s) vehicle logistics network, focusing on key contributors in rail, truck, and barge. Works closely with Director - Logistics & Port Operations and managers in Sales – Logistics department with the purpose of developing logistics strategies to support wholesale and retail goals, support the Port/Subaru Yard Operations (SYO) processing objectives, and lead carrier/vendor communications related to SOA objectives. * Facilitates effective communications of SOA’s vehicle logistics strategy with both internal (SOA departments and Regions) and external sources (various logistics providers). * Ensures Logistics team is a key contributor to monthly wholesale planning with focus on the goals of efficient port processing, timely vehicle deliveries, and attainable wholesale/retail sales objectives. * Fosters positive partnerships and serves as negotiation lead with SOA’s key vehicle logistics providers, including rail carriers, truck carriers, at times port processors, and other industry groups. * Ensures that SOA’s vehicle logistics network supports the company’s vehicle transportation financial objectives and wholesale/retail sales goals. * Becomes a key SOA resource for knowledge of rail and truck economics and internal operations that drive these service providers. * Manages headquarters Logistics team with daily operations and support. Works with Logistics team members on yearly goals and career development. * Works with internal team and Subaru Corporation (SBR) on ensuring efficient ocean shipping to support consistent port operations and inland transportation. Additional Responsibilities * Leads the planning and execution of SOA annual Logistics Partner Summit - works with presenters, creating messaging, and aligning on content. * Represents SOA at automotive logistics conferences and forums. * Becomes familiar with skilled (long shore, teamster, and railway) labor rules and agreements to ensure best practices in SOA port operations and logistics. * Utilizes understanding of logistics software applications as well as serves as main point of contact with IT and stakeholder in the prioritization and development of Logistics and Port technology projects. * Collaborates with Director – Port Operations & Logistics and National Port Operations Manager on port initiatives related to transportation, technology, and contract negotiations. * Actively participates on the Automotive Logistic Executive Committee (ALEC) for Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) and railroad planning/status meetings.   Qualifications * Bachelor's Degree required * At least 10-12 years related experience required * Highly motivated. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Keen understanding of global supply chain and the various sources that drive change. * Leadership ability in a logistics environment. * Strong negotiation skills.     EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's Degree Required and At Least 10-12 years related experience required.   WORK ENVIRONMENT                                               * Required Travel: 30% Travel Required * Office Location: Camden, NJ; apart of the Greater Philadelphia Area (Philly)  * Hybrid Role: Remote work 2 days per week (After 90 Days Onboarding)   COMPENSATION: The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $118200-$160000 / year.
