Build backend and frontend features, provide technical leadership, manage tech debt, and ensure system stability. | 5-7 years experience with Golang mastery, JS/TS proficiency, AI coding tools, and cloud infrastructure knowledge. | About SpotOn We’re not just building restaurant tech, we’re giving independent restaurants the tools to compete and win. From our award-winning point-of-sale to AI-powered profit tools, everything we do helps operators boost profit, work smarter, and keep their best people. And every solution is backed by real humans who actually give a sh*t about helping restaurants succeed. Named the #1 Restaurant POS by G2 (Fall 2025), based on ratings from real users Rated the top-rated point-of-sale (POS) for restaurants, bars, retail, and small businesses by Capterra users Awarded Great Places to Work and Built In’s Best Workplaces for multiple years running We move fast, care hard, and fight for independent restaurant operators to do what they love, and love doing it. If you’re looking to make an impact with heart and hustle, SpotOn is the place for you. About the Role We're looking for a Senior Full Stack Engineer to join our Hospitality Fulfillment team at SpotOn. Our domain focus on how customers’ orders actually get to the kitchen and are prepared, so the work you’ll be doing is critical for smooth restaurant operation. You'll work across various backend services and microfrontends to build features that power our Express POS. The ideal candidate will be able to: Take extreme ownership: You don’t just close tickets; you own the outcome. If a feature breaks or a customer is stuck, you’re the one who sees the fix through, regardless of where the problem sits in the stack. Navigate real complexity: We aren’t doing simple CRUD work. You will be untangling massive systems and solving high-stakes puzzles that require creative thinking and the grit to push through frustration. Be a "whatever it takes" engineer: You are flexible. If the frontend lead is out or an infra fire starts, you’re ready to jump in, learn what you don't know, and clear the path for the team. Treat AI as a teammate: We use AI tools daily to move faster. You’ll be expected to leverage these tools to solve "impossible" problems and keep our quality bar high. Drive the team forward: You’ll provide technical leadership, ensuring we’re making smart decisions and addressing tech debt before it becomes a roadblock. What skill are we searching for? Real-world experience: You’ve spent at least 5 to 7 years building software that survives high-traffic, production environments. Backend mastery: You are highly proficient in Golang and ideally also JS/TS. AI fluency: You have already integrated AI into your workflow and know how to use it to write better code and debug complex systems. Solid fundamentals: You have a deep understanding of data structures, algorithms, and design patterns that allow you to build for scale. Strong communication: You have a solid command of English (min. B2). Perfect candidate also has: The "Figure it Out" gene: You actually enjoy the challenge of a problem that doesn’t have a clear answer on the first page of a search result. Full-stack flexibility: You aren’t afraid of PHP if that’s what’s needed to get a project across the finish line. Cloud and Infra comfort: You’ve spent enough time with AWS, Terraform, or Kubernetes to understand how your code lives in the wild. A mentoring mindset: you naturally raise the bar for those around you through thoughtful code reviews and shared knowledge. What's in it for you Compensation Our base pay range for this role is $123,000-175,000/year. Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan. Offers will be reflective of the candidate’s location and experience. Benefits At SpotOn, we put people above everything else. We’re known for our innovative software and technology solutions, but we stand out because of the hardworking humans behind the tech. We can’t take care of our clients without taking care of our employees first, and that’s why we invest in your wellbeing with a competitive benefits package designed to support your health, family, and future: Medical, Dental, and Vision Options: Nationwide plans to fit your personal healthcare needs. HSA with Employer Match: High-deductible health plan enrollees receive an annual company contribution to their Health Savings Account Company-Paid Life Insurance & Disability 401(k) Retirement Savings & Annual Employer Match Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) Pre-Tax Commuter Benefits Paid Parental Leave Paid vacation, 10 company holidays (including 1 floating holiday), sick time, and volunteer time off Monthly cell phone and internet stipend Education reimbursement up to $2,000 per calendar year to assist with your professional development Employee Resource Groups to build community and inclusion at work We will never ask candidates to pay fees, purchase equipment, or share sensitive personal or financial information during the hiring process. Lead cross-functional initiatives and manage complex technology projects ensuring operational excellence and stakeholder alignment. | Experienced in technical program management with strong communication, data-driven decision making, and cross-team coordination skills. | About SpotOn We’re not just building restaurant tech, we’re giving independent restaurants the tools to compete and win. From our award-winning point-of-sale to AI-powered profit tools, everything we do helps operators boost profit, work smarter, and keep their best people. If you’re looking to make an impact with heart and hustle, SpotOn is the place for you. You’ll be the person who brings structure, clarity, and momentum to our hardware initiatives — a uniquely complex space where our Payments team, Hospitality engineering org, warehouse operations, and executive leadership all intersect. You’ll own the end-to-end coordination of how SpotOn introduces new hardware and manages hardware changes — from aligning teams early in the process, to tracking progress across workstreams, to making sure the right people are informed at the right time. This isn’t a role where you’ll be handed a playbook. You’ll write it. What You’ll Do • Drive hardware initiative planning and execution across cross-functional teams including Payments, Hospitality engineering, warehouse operations, Customer Success, Marketing, and Sales • Coordinate dependencies and changes across teams for new hardware launches and hardware updates, ensuring nothing falls through the cracks • Partner with the warehouse team to align on purchasing timelines, inventory readiness, and rollout sequencing • Own stakeholder communication with executive leadership (CEO, CTO, CPO) and VPs — keeping them informed, aligned, and unblocked • Ensure decisions are grounded in data — pushing the org to make well-supported calls and flagging when they’re not • Track and communicate project status across all active hardware workstreams, surfacing risks early and driving resolution • Collaborate with product marketing on positioning and go-to-market strategy for new hardware launches • Build the processes, templates, and rhythms that will define how SpotOn manages hardware programs going forward • Leverage tools like Jira to track workstreams, surface blockers, and keep teams aligned across concurrent initiatives What We’re Looking For • 5–8+ years of experience in technical program management, preferably in a software or hardware-adjacent environment • Enough technical depth to hold a credible conversation with engineers — you don’t need to write code, but you need to understand tradeoffs • Proven track record of driving cross-functional initiatives in environments without perfect structure or clear playbooks • Strong communicator who can translate complexity into clarity for both technical teams and executive stakeholders • Data-driven by default — you push for evidence before decisions and know how to build the case when it doesn’t exist yet • Experience coordinating with supply chain, warehouse, or operations teams is a strong plus • Comfortable operating as a solo contributor without a PMO to lean on — you’re energized by building, not maintaining • Familiarity with Jira or similar project management tooling preferred • Past restaurant experience — especially having worked in one — is a serious plus Why This Role This is a rare opportunity to influence how hardware is managed at a company that’s scaling fast and building real things. You’ll have direct visibility with our executive team, meaningful ownership over outcomes that affect our restaurant customers, and the chance to leave a lasting mark on how SpotOn operates. If you’ve ever wanted to build the program management muscle at a company that actually needs it — this is it. Compensation: • Our base pay range starts at $150,000 -$200,000 for this role • Please note the salary range listed is just one component of a competitive compensation package which includes a company stock plan • Offers will be reflective of the candidate’s location and experience.
