How you’ll make an impact: Principal Engineer in the SiriusXM Collaboration and Productivity team specialize in supporting a portfolio of critical enterprise applications. How You’ll Make an Impact We are excited to offer a Summer Internship opportunity on our Core Listener – Streaming Design team, which shapes the SiriusXM listening experience across mobile, tablet, desktop, TV, and in-car platforms (including CarPlay and Android Auto), where attention and context matter. As a Product Design Intern, you’ll contribute to real design work that explores how listeners discover, engage with, and build deeper connections to the content they love. You’ll collaborate closely with experienced product designers and cross-functional partners, while building your skills in interaction design, visual design, prototyping, and storytelling. This role is especially well suited for someone excited about designing for: Live audio experiences Fan engagement and fandom Cross-platform journeys (e.g., connecting in-car and mobile experiences) Emerging patterns in streaming, media, and entertainment products What Success Looks Like By the end of the internship, you will have owned a clearly scoped design problem and delivered a portfolio-ready case study. This includes framing the problem, exploring and prototyping solutions, incorporating feedback or lightweight testing, and clearly articulating what you learned and what you would recommend next. Success in this role is about demonstrating strong product thinking, sound judgment, and the ability to work effectively within real-world constraints. What You’ll Do Own and drive the design of a scoped feature or experience across the SiriusXM streaming app (mobile, desktop, TV, and web). Lead early-stage exploration for concepts tied to strategic themes such as liveness, fandom, and personalized discovery. Create user flows, wireframes, high-fidelity UI, and interactive prototypes to support decision-making and learning. Participate in design critiques, feedback sessions, and cross-team reviews. Conduct lightweight competitive analysis, experience audits, and synthesize findings into clear design insights. Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and fellow designers to understand constraints and opportunities. Design within an established design system, using components intentionally and proposing improvements when patterns fall short. What you’ll do: You will work hand in hand with the Security Operations Center Team in the identification and management of security attack surface vulnerabilities, investigation and case management of security incidents, as well as the creation and maintenance of SIEM automations. More specifically you’ll: • Attend at least 3 incident bridges and partner with the Incident Response team through the workflow • Review new Attack Surface Management findings each week, highlight the top 5 findings and describe why they are important • Develop at least 5 automation functions for the SIEM to handle incidents and enrich, lookup, or correlate information What you’ll need: • Internships are open to current students enrolled at a university (those graduating by May 2027 are preferred) and recent graduates who graduated within the 12-month period prior to the start of the internship. • Experience with coding or engineering in the one (or more) of the following platforms: • API Integration between systems • Web applications (backend and frontend) • Digital Forensics gathering scripts • Experience with basic security work such as vulnerability scanning, security hardening, and basic cryptography knowledge. • Desire to work on both security incidents and follow on remediation automations. • Ability to communicate verbally and in writing in a proficient manner. • Understanding of how modern web applications and supporting services work. • Must have legal right to work in the U.S. At SiriusXM, we carefully consider a wide range of factors when determining compensation, including your background and experience.
