The Lead Data Engineer develops and maintains robust and scalable integrations and data pipelines that connect core systems for online K-12 learning. This role involves collaborating with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to automate core business needs at scale. | Candidates should have three years of experience with AWS cloud services and proficiency in Python and SQL. Familiarity with event-based architecture and DevOps practices is also required. | This is a 100% Remote position based anywhere in the US. The project will be an initial 3-month duration with the possibility of extension. The Lead Data Engineer role develops and maintains robust and scalable integrations and data pipelines that connect our core systems and drive critical automation for online K-12 learning and school management. This Lead Data Engineer will be part of a collaborative remote team working closely with other engineers, analysts, architects, and business stakeholders to develop reliable and modular data flows and integrations on an agile cycle that automates core business needs at scale and empowers online education for students across the United States. Key Responsibilities: Develop modular data integrations following an event-based architecture, partnering with data analysts and architects to understand and meet development requirements for each use case Partner with other engineers and technical leads for collaboration, support, and alignment throughout design/development, and to solve development blockers if they arise Develop robust unit testing on developed code and drive integration, end-to-end, and performance testing to ensure each data integration is reliable, scalable, and meets business needs before deployment Drive developed integrations through a CI/CD process to validate, test, and deploy reliable solutions for production use Communicate and demo developed data integration solutions and progress with stakeholders in bi-weekly sprint reviews to drive transparency and collaboration between teams Maintain deployed data integrations, monitoring for any issues, and resolving them as they arise. Skills Required: Three (3) years of relevant professional experience working with, building, and/or managing AWS cloud services including AWS Lambda , Step Functions , DMS , Kinesis , S3 , RDS , Glue , EC2 , CloudWatch , CloudFormation , or equivalent Azure/GCP services Proficiency in Python development. Proficiency in using SQL and APIs to automate interactions with various data stores and systems Familiarity with pub/sub-event-based architecture and ETL data pipeline patterns Demonstrated experience with software development best practices, including developing robust unit, integration, functional, and performance test Demonstrated experience following enterprise-grade DevOps practices, including release management, CI/CD pipelines Demonstrated success in working with a highly collaborative and agile remote development team Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint) Ability to clear a required background check Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in industries with rigorous technical environments, such as insurance, retail, CPG, high-tech. Experience developing pub/sub-event-based architectures, data streaming, data integration, and batch data pipelines Experience working with various data storage types, including relational databases, object storage, graph databases, data warehouses Experience with Snowflake or equivalent data warehousing and services AWS or Azure cloud certifications Experience in education and/or educational technology industries
Lead and manage civil construction projects including estimating, budgeting, scheduling, team leadership, quality assurance, safety compliance, and client relations. | 5+ years of federal heavy civil construction project management experience, knowledge of construction methods and safety standards, and proficiency with project management software. | This role can be based anywhere in the US, but we prefer the Central US. Initially, this hybrid role will be more hands-on and require about 60% travel, which is expected to decline to a more normalized rate as the division grows and becomes more established over the next 3 years. (Typical PM travel for our team is about 25%) As a growing, well-established Federal GC, our client has an immediate opening for a Civil Project Manager with Federal Construction experience to lead our new civil division. The person selected for the role will be the cornerstone for the successful rollout of the program and will have the opportunity to grow with the division. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring successful planning and execution through completion of civil projects. The Civil Project Manager will manage all aspects of the project, from estimating, budgeting, and scheduling to resource management, ensuring safety, quality, and client satisfaction. Additionally, the role will require the ability to support the development of division structure, SOPs, and identify as well as implement process improvements to increase efficiency. Key Responsibilities: Estimating: Performs quantity take-offs, pricing, scoping, and bidding of civil construction projects. Must be able to price self-performed work in detai,l including production rates, material, equipment, and crews for each DFOW. Must also be able to acquire subcontractor pricing for items not to be self-performed and produce a turnkey estimate for civil division projects. Project Planning and Coordination: Develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and budgets. Represent the company at virtual and onsite project meetings. Coordinate with internal teams, clients, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure project milestones are met within the defined timelines and budgets. Team Management: Lead, motivate, and mentor project teams, including engineers, subcontractors, and laborers. Ensure effective communication across all stakeholders. Cost Control and Budget Management: Monitor project costs and financial performance, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure that the project stays within budget. Quality Assurance and Compliance: Ensure all work adheres to industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements. Perform quality inspections and maintain high standards of work. Risk Management: Identify potential project risks (safety, financial, logistical) and develop mitigation plans to address and minimize impacts. Client and Stakeholder Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients and stakeholders. Communicate project progress, manage expectations, and resolve any issues or concerns that arise during the project lifecycle. Procurement and Contract Management: Manage procurement of materials, equipment, and services. Negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project terms. Reporting and Documentation: Maintain detailed project documentation, including progress reports, change orders, meeting minutes, and financial reports. Provide regular updates to senior management and clients. Safety Management: Enforce safety policies and procedures, ensuring all worksite activities comply with OSHA and other local safety regulations. Qualifications: Federal Construction Project Management experience is mandatory 5+ years of experience in well-rounded (not specialities like just boring, utilities, etc) heavy civil construction project management. Prefer projects under 15M. Proven experience managing civil projects and crews. Strong understanding of construction methods, production rates, cost estimating, budgeting, and scheduling. Experience with project management software (i.e. Procore, MS applications). Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining quality and safety. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills. Knowledge of construction safety standards and regulations (OSHA). Experience working with USACE, NAVFAC, or other federal agencies a plus Preferred: Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or a related field. PMP (Project Management Professional) certification Working knowledge of Civil 3D software Verifiable civil field experience (i.e. Superintendent or Crew Foreman) #ZR
