The engineer will be working as a SEIT Lead to support our Satellite Ground System organization by leading a team in program execution located in Orlando, FL. The SEIT Lead interfaces with the Program Manager, Chief Engineer, other leads, as well as the customer. In this role, the key responsibilities will be: • Technical Leadership and Execution: Lead the team in the planning and execution of all systems engineering activities, including development, system design, integration, and verification. • Team Management: Direct, mentor, and guide a diverse team of systems, cyber, and software engineers, ensuring alignment with program goals and technical best practices. • Program Lifecycle Management: Drive the program through its lifecycle, from preliminary design reviews (PDR) to critical design reviews (CDR) and readiness reviews (TRR), ensuring all milestones are met. • Integration and Test Oversight: Manage and oversee all integration and test activities, ensuring that end-to-end system verification is performed effectively and all requirements are met. • Stakeholder Communication: Serve as the primary technical interface for customers and stakeholders. Provide clear and concise technical briefings, status reports, and presentations to both internal and external audiences. Risk and Opportunity Management: Proactively identify, track, and mitigate technical risks and dependencies, while also identifying and pursuing opportunities for improvement. • Requirements and Configuration Management: Oversee the definition, management, and verification of system-level requirements. Ensure the integrity of the program's technical baseline through effective configuration management. • Agile Methodology Proficiency: Strong knowledge of Agile principles and practices, such as Scrum or Kanban. The ability to adapt and apply these methodologies to systems engineering processes is important. • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements and environments, and the ability to pivot strategies as needed. Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will have: • Active DoD Secret security clearance • Knowledge base of Wideband SATCOM Operational Management System (WSOMS) or other MILSATCOM enterprise-ground system architectures • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field (STEM degree required) plus 8 years of experience in the following; • OR an Master's degree and 6 years of experience in the following: • Experience working within formal engineering, development, integration, requirements analysis, and/or testing processes for the development of complex systems • Experience and proven track record of harnessing standard system engineering processes for the development of complex systems with familiarity with some of the following areas: systems analysis, requirements and interface management, and Engineering Review Board representation over the total systems lifecycle • Excellent written and verbal communication skills • Experience leading troubleshooting and resolution of complex software and hardware issues found during testing. • Experience managing and tracking technical risks, opportunities and dependencies, and reporting program metrics and Technical Performance Measures (TPMs). • Experience managing the execution of the entire systems engineering lifecycle, including requirements analysis, and system architecture development. • Experience acting as the main technical point of contact for the customer, external stakeholders, and program management while communicating the technical strategy and addressing concerns. • Demonstrated proficiency in computer use including typical office applications (MS Office Suite) • Experience working in a Scrum team environment • Experience with Agile development tools (Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, etc.) • Ability to travel up to 10% Additional desired experience and skills: • Master of Science in Engineering or other STEM discipline • Scrum Master or Product Owner certification • Mentoring experience. • Experience working with satellite communications technology system architecture, interfaces, protocols, control, planning, equipment, concept of operation, troubleshooting, policies, and/or procedures • Software development experience in with C#, Java, Web development (React, JavaScript) in a Windows environment. • Software development experience in with C#, Java, Web development (React, JavaScript) in a Windows environment. • Software development familiarity with Windows Service development, Microservices, Unit testing frameworks (NUnit, XUnit, etc),Databases and writing SQL (Microsoft SQL Server, PostgresDB, etc) • Experience in the design, implementation and delivery of sophisticated software systems in stages of the Software Development Life Cycle • Experience performing in software development teams using Agile or waterfall process and continuous integration / continuous deployment processes and tools If you are interested in supporting and working with our military and a passionate Serco team - then submit your application now for immediate consideration.
