This leader will be instrumental in evolving the firm’s security posture by refining incident response playbooks, championing a robust Secure Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and ensuring a proactive threat hunting and penetration testing regimen. Additionally, they will design and track key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to continually assess and enhance the effectiveness of the security operations and development programs. The Senior Director will work cross-functionally with engineering, IT, compliance, and product teams to embed security at every layer of the organization’s technology stack and culture. Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results People: Team Leadership and Development: Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing team of security practitioners, including engineers, analysts, and architects, fostering a culture of continuous learning and collaboration. Provide guidance and hands-on training to elevate team capabilities in penetration testing, incident response, and threat hunting. Identify skill gaps, promote professional development, and ensure alignment of security team activities with organizational goals. Client: Security Controls and Solutions Management: Develop and maintain foundational security controls and solutions, including Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), SIEM platforms, Email Security systems, and Cloud Security controls. Evaluate, select, and optimize security technologies to ensure comprehensive threat coverage, alignment with regulatory requirements, and cost-effective risk reduction. Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure solutions integrate seamlessly with existing infrastructure and workflows. Value: Secure SDLC and Architecture: Partner with engineering, product, and IT teams to design and maintain a robust Secure SDLC, embedding security controls and checks throughout the development pipeline. Review and refine security architecture to ensure that applications and infrastructure adhere to best practices and industry standards. Oversee the documentation and presentation of penetration testing findings, including recommended remediation steps and timelines. Metrics, KPIs, and Reporting: Define, implement, and regularly review KPIs and metrics to quantify the effectiveness and maturity of security operations, development practices, and threat management efforts. Communicate program performance and trends to executive leadership, along with data-driven recommendations for continuous improvement. Maintain transparency and accountability by delivering clear, concise reports that highlight progress, challenges, and opportunities. Other Threat Management Duties as assigned Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s degree preferred. 12+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, including leadership roles overseeing SOC operations, secure development practices, and proactive threat management. Key Responsibilities Architecture & Platform Engineering • Architect cloud-native, secure, and scalable infrastructure across Azure and AWS using Terraform, Bicep, and automation frameworks. • Define platform engineering strategies that enable developer efficiency, self-service, and standardized deployments. • Provide technical leadership on Kubernetes-based workloads, service mesh, networking, and platform services. Technical Leadership & Cross-Team Influence • Set direction for infrastructure standards, automation patterns, and platform components. • Guide engineering teams on system design, environment strategy, scalability, and operational excellence. • Collaborate with architects, security, SRE, and application teams to ensure alignment across domains. Continuous Improvement & Innovation • Research and introduce emerging technologies aligned with DevOps and cloud-native practices. • Build reusable frameworks and tools that reduce cognitive load for development teams. • Contribute to technical governance and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture. This individual serves as a technical point-of-contact for assigned functional areas and assists subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, maximizing efficiency by analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities as well as systems administration and maintenance, evaluation of functionality, design and configurations, testing changes, report writing and development of integrations between systems both internal and external. The Senior HRIS Specialist also supports system releases based testing and is responsible for project management of small to mid-size People Group projects. This is a remote role that can sit anywhere in the United States. Duties and responsibilities, as they align to Ryan’s Key Results People: Proactively partner with key stakeholders and leaders to identify opportunities for process improvement through leverage or enhancement of existing or new functionality within People Technology systems, and share best practices. Client: Design, develop, configure, and implement People Technology enhancements based on requests from internal clients requirements, recommendations, and business needs. Create reports and dashboards based on business and internal client needs. Participates in the development of project plans, initiatives projects as needed and contributes to other People Group projects. Develop user procedures, guidelines and documentation for all systems. Creates training materials and trains new end-users and team members on processes and functionality. Value: Assist in the implementation and deployment of enhancements and feature releases in People Technology systems. Ensure organizational hierarchy and structure is consistent with the needs of the Firm, and works with key stakeholders to ensure data is appropriately aligned and flows correctly to other systems. Manage the review and testing for newly implemented functionality as well as regular service updates. Define test criteria, test scripts, and ensure that adequate testing is performed on system modifications to provide quality assurance of data, resolves any issues from the updates and patches. Research and resolve system problems and recommends system and/or process improvements. Monitor interfaces between People Technology, other internal systems, and external vendor systems. Work with vendors to research and resolve all system errors. Perform data conversion and data validation activities, and mass data loads in People Group systems as assigned. Manage internal controls requirements for People Technology system processes. Drive all aspects of system reporting, including creation of weekly, monthly, and quarterly reports, EEO compliance reports, and ad-hoc reports as needed. Maintain data accuracy and integrity in all People Technology systems by running audit reports, investigating errors, identifying re-occurring trends, and taking corrective action to ensure data integrity. Establish and maintain up-to-date People Technology functional documentation, standard operating procedures, as well a comprehensive People Technology reports library. Performs other duties as assigned. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in human resources or related field. At least five to seven years of related experience, including significant exposure to HR Information Systems, data analysis, and reporting and must have a solid understanding of Human Resources data and processes. Functional and expert configuration knowledge of the Workday system and Report Writer are strongly desired skills.(I think these should be marked required) Experience with delivering and supporting Workday HCM is strongly preferred (change to required) for this position.
