YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY: The Engineering Team Lead is an engineering management position responsible for providing technical engineering oversight and design team management for engineering projects for which they are assigned. This technical management role is responsible for financial, resource allocation, logistic and technical leadership of projects and has the capability to mentor and train staff under their supervision. You'll be working on tenant fit-outs for our Data Center/Mission Critical work. WHAT YOU'LL DO: • Possess the ability to understand project requirements and develop a design fee for the work requested. • Prepare and oversee work plans for engineering and production resources. • Oversee Engineers, Designers and Modeling staff assigned to team or project work. • Ability to communicate with Project Manager (PM) or Executive regarding effort required to accomplish an expected deliverables and project support.This may include developing requests for additional services for submittal to the PM or Owner. • Lead the Engineering CAC effort and interaction with the project PM. • Able to resolve a variety of complex problems (i.e. conflicting design requirements, unsuitability of conventional materials, difficult coordination requirements). • Supervise the coordination of the project with city, state, and county officials, and other regulatory agencies • Attendance at project design meetings with the overall Design Build Team. • Job Site Visits to review installation or assess current conditions. • Perform Value Engineering studies. • Act as Engineer of Record for projects within their responsibility. • The duties and responsibilities are intended to describe the general nature and scope of. WHAT YOU BRING TO US: • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college in engineering, architectural engineering, or construction sciences. • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of Electrical Engineering "tenant fit-out" experience • Registration as a licensed US-based Professional Engineer (P.E.) is required for this position. • Field experience is strongly recommended. • Education and experience can be a combination of education, training, and relevant experience. COMPETENCIES: • Power Distribution & Systems: Deep knowledge of critical power infrastructure, including transformers, switchgear, paralleling switchgear, UPS, battery strings, and diesel generators. • Load Management: Ability to calculate and balance electrical loads to prevent oversubscription and equipment failure. • Design & Modeling: Proficiency in designing and specifying electrical systems, creating detailed electrical diagrams (single-line diagrams), and performing load flow, short circuit, and coordination studies using software like or . • Standards & Codes: Thorough understanding and practical application of industry standards, electrical codes (like ), and regulations for safe and compliant designs. • Blueprints & Terminology: Strong ability to interpret electrical and mechanical SLDs (single line diagrams), construction drawings, and understand data center construction terminology. • Software Proficiency: Skill in using electrical design software, , or other relevant . WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL: • Knowledge of engineering processes and calculations including load calculations, equipment layout, normal and emergency standby distribution, HV/MV distribution, lighting layout, lighting calculations, power and lighting controls, utility coordination, grounding, value engineering, applicable codes, and standards, is required. • Working knowledge of equipment and system testing and commissioning. • The ability to assume responsibility, interface, and coordinate with others. • Great at problem-solving, communication, and attention to detail. • The ability to analyze and resolve complex engineering problems. • The ability to oversee Electrical System Studies such as: Short Circuit, Overcurrent Protection, Arc Flash, Voltage Drop/Droop, and Underground Thermal Calculations. • Management skills are required, including work planning, resource management, fee development, staff oversight, staff development and advancement planning. • Knowledge of electrical construction sufficient to understand how design packages will be built. • Fluency with Building Codes and Local Codes in the local area of projects. • Proficient in using a computer and Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.); Oracle preferred • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks, changing priorities as necessary • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude • Effective oral and written communication skills. • Ability to be self-motivated, proactive and an effective team player. • Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of employees, both management and staff alike, vendors, clients, Trade Partners and others TRAVEL: • up to 15% (does not include local field visits) WORKING CONDITIONS: • General work environment - sitting for extended periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending.
