Lead and manage enterprise-wide data classification program, including technology implementation, administration, and cross-department collaboration to ensure data governance and compliance. | 3+ years leading data classification initiatives and projects with experience in data governance tools, technical leadership, and strong communication skills, plus a relevant bachelor's degree. | Title: Data Classification Technical Lead (14902) Location: 100% Remote Type: Contract Rate: $60 per hour POSITION OVERVIEW Seeking individual with experience implementing and managing data classification technologies in highly regulated financial services industry. The Data Classification Technical Lead will partner with the Data Governance team, IT team(s) and primary vendor to provide support and administration for the implementation of data classification technologies. This position will be accountable for managing the data lifecycle and development throughout the data classification process. Responsibilities: • Implementing, managing, and supporting, data classification program across the enterprise environment. • Leading technical strategy and day to day administration of data classification platform. • Provide technical oversight for installing and supporting data classification technology within non-persistent VDI environment. • Manage deployment and configuration of data classification technology across the enterprise. • Requirements gathering for data classification process. • Provides subject matter expertise in the areas of data classification, data governance, sensitive data discovery, risk and control, and compliance. • Enforce the proper governance of data, sensitive data discovery, data classification, and compliance practices to minimize the risk of data exposure. • Works with primary vendor and collaborates across departments ensuring data classification best practices are followed and risk is minimized. • Understand, translate, and convey complex technical concepts to non-technical audience. • Key contributor to building and maintaining a strong foundation of data classification Skills/Qualifications: • Three (3+) or more years working with teams who have implemented data governance platforms for data classification – experience implementing Digital Guardian (Boldon James) a plus. • Three (3+) years' experience as a Technical Lead with project management responsibilities. • Three (3+) or more years’ experience with data classification initiatives, and sensitive data discovery. • Three (3+) or more years’ experience implementing, and operating data governance and data classification tools required. • Three (3+) or more years leading data classification projects experience with both structured and unstructured data. • Three (3+) or more years’ experience writing standard operating procedures, systems requirements, and general documentation. • Three to five (3-5) years’ experience with agile development, waterfall, and data classification program management. • Strong oral and written communication skills and ability to gauge the audience and speak at appropriate levels. The ability to put complex concepts in a clear and concise form required. • Excellent time management skills required, ability to set priorities and meet obligations in a timely manner. • Excellent leadership abilities, conflict resolution skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Experience implementing Boldon James data classification at enterprise level.
