The Director, Finance Intelligent Automation & Controls within the Office of the US CFO will own the prototype-to-pilot pipeline for AI-enabled transformation across Regulatory Reporting, Financial Control, Product Control, and FP&A, personally building agentic AI prototypes that accelerate core finance production workflows while establishing governable, reusable technical patterns for enterprise productionization. WHAT WILL YOU DO? Shape and execute the multi-year Finance AI roadmap across data, automation, AI, reporting, and workflow optimization – sequenced by addressable value and business impact rather than technology novelty Identify high-value AI use cases and personally build the first working agentic AI prototype against core production workflows (data sourcing, reconciliation, report production, variance commentary, review stack, inquiry response) Establish and track value-realization metrics including productivity gains, cycle-time reduction, reporting quality improvements, and decision support effectiveness Define the prototype-to-pilot hand-off pattern and technical standards that Technology teams will adopt to productionize solutions for enterprise scale Design for governance, audit, controls, and compliance from inception – establishing patterns for evaluation, human-in-the-loop approval, audit trails, and knowledge grounding across all solutions Partner with Technology and Data teams to identify and improve Finance data assets, quality, lineage, and accessibility to unblock AI delivery Build and sustain US Finance AI Academy – a structured upskilling program with communities of practice, adoption initiatives, and measurable outcomes across the Finance function Lead stakeholder management with senior Finance leadership, CFO organization, and global Technology/Data teams to influence design decisions and align priorities on investment Track emerging AI capability and maintain forward-looking adoption view, evaluating generative AI and agentic AI solutions without chasing tooling for its own sake Ensure every solution meets enterprise requirements for security, controls, compliance, audit, and resilience while applying agile delivery discipline Work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Provide thought leadership and work independently, while demonstrating strong attention to details. Perform additional responsibilities as requested to achieve business objectives. WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED? Must have: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced technical credential preferred Minimum 12 years of progressive experience in Finance, with at least 5 years in senior leadership roles at a major financial institution Deep domain expertise across Regulatory Reporting, Financial Control, Product Control, or FP&A, demonstrating understanding of how financial numbers are produced, reviewed, and challenged Demonstrated hands-on AI/ML delivery experience: personally built and shipped LLM-based or agentic solutions in production environments (not sponsorship or oversight alone) Strong judgment in designing solutions for governance, audit, and controls from inception, with ability to discern genuinely solvable problems within current AI constraints Senior-level executive communication and credibility – capable of operating with direct CFO and ExCo visibility while influencing cross-functional decisions Proven builder's bias: comfortable producing working prototypes in days, iterating in front of stakeholders, and translating between domain and technical teams Technical fluency sufficient to direct (not necessarily build) modern AI/data stacks: Python, SQL, RAG and agentic frameworks, vector stores, cloud data platforms, and workflow orchestration Experience driving measurable adoption and change management at scale within complex, regulated environments Nice-to-have: Capital markets product knowledge spanning rates, credit, equities, FX, and derivatives with familiarity to the trade lifecycle Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts sufficient to direct and evaluate model-based work Experience standing up upskilling programs, communities of practice, or capability centers within large Finance or Technology organizations Exposure to enterprise data governance, semantic layers, and metadata management frameworks What’s in it for you? This salary range does not include other elements of total compensation, including a discretionary bonus and benefits such as a 401(k) program with company-matching contributions; health, dental, vision, life and disability insurance; and paid time-off plan. RBC Capital Markets (RBC CM) is looking for a lead responsible for owning and evolving the end-to-end data lineage framework across Capital Markets. This role provides strategic oversight of data flows spanning front-office through middle-office and back-office systems, in critical regulatory and reporting platforms such as CAT, TRACE, and CAIS. The lead will establish standards for metadata modeling, data ownership, and critical data element identification to ensure compliance, auditability, and business intelligence across the organization. What will you do? • Own the end-to-end data lineage framework across all Capital Markets systems, from front-office trading through middle-office risk management to back-office settlement and regulatory reporting • Map and document trade lifecycle flows (order → execution → allocation → reporting) and regulatory reporting flows (FINRA CAT, TRACE, OATS legacy systems) • Define and enforce golden sources of truth, data ownership structures (RACI matrices), and critical data elements (CDEs) across the organization • Design and maintain comprehensive metadata models that capture both technical and business lineage • Deliver audit-ready lineage documentation and traceability maps spanning multiple levels of detail (L1–L4) • Build and govern a centralized data catalog that serves as the single source of truth for data provenance and lineage across Capital Markets • Collaborate with front-office, middle-office, and back-office teams to validate lineage accuracy and ensure business alignment • Support regulatory compliance and audit requirements by maintaining current, accurate lineage documentation What do you need to succeed? Must Have: • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or related field, or equivalent professional experience in data engineering or enterprise data architecture • 7–10 years of experience in data governance, enterprise data architecture, or data management roles • Minimum 5 years working in Capital Markets or financial services environments • Demonstrated experience building and managing enterprise-wide data lineage frameworks in large, regulated organizations • Expert-level proficiency with enterprise data lineage and cataloging tools: Collibra Data Intelligence Platform, Informatica Enterprise Data Catalog, and Alation • Deep expertise in metadata modeling, including both technical and business lineage design • Strong understanding of Capital Markets trade lifecycle and regulatory reporting requirements • Strong understanding of Capital Markets products, especially FI derivatives, Equities Derivatives, FX Derivatives • Strong understanding of FIX and FPML protocols • Ability to define and document golden sources, data ownership models, and critical data elements • Advanced SQL and data architecture knowledge to validate technical lineage across complex systems • Experience designing governance frameworks and documentation standards at enterprise scale Nice to Have: • Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Business Administration, or Finance • Relevant certifications such as Collibra Certified Data Steward, Informatica certification, or Certified Data Management Professional (CDMP) • Active involvement in data governance communities or thought leadership in metadata management What’s in it for you? The expected salary range for this position is $125,000 - $190,000 USD, depending on your experience, skills, and registration status, market conditions and business needs.
