Lead technical engagements and design storage architectures for media and entertainment workflows. | 8+ years in customer-facing technical roles with 4+ years in media and entertainment, strong knowledge of unstructured data storage and media tools. | Qumulo's cloud data platform manages exabytes of the world's most demanding data, unifying files, objects, and every workload across edge, core, and cloud. About the Position: This is the technical lead focusing on Qumulo's media, entertainment, gaming, and sports accounts. You'll partner with Sales and customers across the full cycle, from discovery through proof-of-concept, designing storage and workflow architectures for some of the most demanding content production environments in the industry. The work is hands-on with the people doing the work: technical directors, post supervisors, pipeline engineers, and IT teams running editorial, VFX, rendering, and live broadcast pipelines. You'll translate their workflow requirements into solutions that hold up at 4K/8K, high frame rates, and multi-site collaboration. Responsibilities: • Own the technical relationship on MEGS opportunities, from discovery and demos through POCs and architecture sign-off • Partner with account teams to qualify deals and shape technical strategies for performance-intensive workloads like VFX rendering, editorial finishing, and live broadcast • Design architectures for the demands of modern production: throughput, low-latency access, scale, and multi-site collaboration across post and distribution • Build credibility with technical directors, post supervisors, pipeline engineers, and IT operations • Build and maintain the MEGS technical toolkit: reference architectures, workflow demos, solution briefs, and competitive positioning Qualifications: • 8+ years in a customer-facing technical role (Systems Engineer, Solutions Architect, or Media Solutions Engineer) at a software, storage, or tech company, including 4+ years focused on media and entertainment • Track record leading complex pre-sales engagements end to end, with results you can point to • Working knowledge of the tools customers use day to day: editorial (Avid, Premiere), VFX (Nuke, After Effects, Flame), 3D and rendering (Maya, Cinema 4D), color (DaVinci Resolve), or sports broadcast platforms • Strong grounding in unstructured data storage for media: file system performance, metadata, collaborative access, and high-throughput I/O, including NFS, SMB, and object • Comfort engaging creative, technical, and executive audiences in the same room Candidates with the following additional experience will be highly regarded: • Background in episodic TV, film, advertising, sports broadcast, gaming, or streaming production • Familiarity with cloud and hybrid media workflows, remote collaboration, and AI-assisted content creation • Working knowledge of MAM, PAM, or workflow orchestration platforms • Benchmarking, capacity planning, or workflow optimization for I/O-intensive creative applications The annual pay range for the role is USD $260,000 - $270,000 OTE plus equity. Individual pay depends on various factors, such as role level, relevant experience and skills. Pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. About the role: This is a senior technical resource for customer engagements across multiple industries and use cases at Qumulo. You'll partner with Sales and customers across the full cycle, from discovery through proof-of-concept, designing storage and data management architectures for a range of workloads and environments. The work is hands-on with infrastructure teams, storage administrators, architects, and application owners. You'll translate business and technical requirements into solutions that perform at scale across on-prem, hybrid, and cloud, covering file services, backup and archive, analytics, AI/ML, and cloud-adjacent workloads.
