Lead planning and execution of medium-large gas utility transmission projects including scope, schedule, budget, construction, and risk management. | Bachelor's degree (preferably engineering), 5+ years project management in gas utility or civil construction, financial management skills, and preferably PE or PMP certification. | Position Overview Power your future with Qualus as a Project Manager in our Program Management organization. We are seeking a Project Manager to provide planning, management, and overall execution of a portfolio of gas transmission construction projects. This includes managing all activities related to project scope, schedule, cost/budget, construction, resources, procurement, and risk elements to optimize client service, quality and financial performance on large, complex and challenging projects. Responsibilities • Leads the planning and implementation of medium-large gas utility transmission projects ranging in complexity. • Supports business development by participating in project scoping, fee development, proposal preparation, interviews, negotiations, and contract development. • Reviews assigned project(s) after award to define project scope, determine work procedures/sequences and develops schedules, budgets, staffing, vendor lists and progress billing points. • Meets with client management as necessary during the term of a project to resolve issues and to obtain approvals at the project’s completion. • Maintains a continuing business relationship with clients as part of ongoing business development efforts. • Plans, organizes, communicates and coordinates project engagements. • Manages the day-to-day activities of project engagements including Clients and Project Teams. • Achieve project objectives including quality/scopes, budgets, and schedules. • Analyzes project performance and resource utilization. • Identifies potential out of scope work. • Manages, and negotiates contract change orders. • Identifies and manages project risk from the proposal phase through the construction of the project. • Trains, mentors, and oversees other Project Managers and conducts/participates in portfolio and project reviews. Substation Design Engineers are responsible for designing substations utilizing applicable codes and client standards (if available). Typical design to include general arrangement, equipment and electrical layout, elevation views, cable trench, grounding, conduit drawings, details, bills of material, and AC and DC power systems. Typical design to include general arrangement, equipment and electrical layout, elevation views, cable trench, grounding, conduit drawings, details, bills of material, and AC and DC power systems. • Design ground grids based on applicable codes utilizing industry available software. • Design lightning protection and grounding plans. • Complete calculations such as AC and DC load, bus spans, and ampacity calculations. • Create equipment and material specifications for procurement of engineered equipment as well as development of design scope and cost estimates. • Complete conceptual designs and layouts for facility planning studies. • Preparing additional support documentation as needed to assist procurement, construction, and operation/maintenance of systems being designed. • Direct and/or participate in client meetings/job site visits to collect or deliver design and engineering data. • Perform/Ensure company’s Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) processes are being followed on all design packages.
