Assembling small and large components, inspecting parts, maintaining safety and quality standards, and supporting other departments. | High school diploma and at least 1 year of assembly experience; basic understanding of electrical components, ability to read wiring diagrams, proficiency with shop tools, and manual dexterity. | About Company: What Does Prolec GE Waukesha Do? ---------------------------------------- JOB SUMMARY The Assembler will assemble small components. This role will assemble the THP product line (OF/OF2, N2 systems, N2 Generator). This role will also braze and weld. This role will also have large assembly projects (Tap Changer Overhauls, LRT200 builds). 70% of the role will consist of Assembly and teardown, 20% of the role will consist of sub-assembly, and the remaining 10% of the role will be testing, inspection, and work product and station clean-up. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES * Assembly of small components as well as large assembly projects. * Train new hires on shop layout and different functions. * Drive as needed (Plating, ACT, ACCU Machining). * Exceed or meet Work Order build times. * Clean parts * Inspect parts to print to verify assembly. * Keep work area clean and free of hazards. * Maintaining acceptable production rate while not sacrificing quality of work. * Meeting customer and company quality standards. * Minimizing rework and scrap. * Optimizing setup time. * Must adhere to all company safety standards. * Must provide support to other departments on an as needed basis. * Day to day work assignments may increase in complexity and volume Assemblers work with and are trained on Proprietary Information. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES * Demonstrate the ability to follow written and verbal instructions. * Basic understanding of electrical components. * Familiar with basic measuring tools (Calipers) * Able to read and interpret detailed wiring diagrams, and drawings. * Must demonstrate proficiency in the use of basic shop tools. * Good eye hand coordination and manual dexterity skills. * Excellent oral and written communication skills. * Computer proficient. * Ability to work independently. * Must develop a good understanding of company quality standards. * Must be able to provide accurate “time required” estimates. * Must be a team player. This position involves managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely, cost-effective delivery of high-quality materials. The role requires a strong understanding of technical specifications, supply chain processes, and market trends to align purchasing strategies with organizational goals. PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES • Perform daily ordering of all inventory items: aluminum, steel, small components, tools and PPE. • Lead the procurement process from identifying suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of materials. • Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers to ensure long-term partnerships and favorable terms. • Reduce inventory risks by evaluating; Business Continuity Plans, Product Change Notifications, End of Life notifications • Continuously evaluate and monitor supplier performance to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings. • Develop and maintain performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of supplier relations and procurement processes. • Transform spend and historical data into key insights and opportunities to enable growth. • Coordinate best practices in strategic sourcing and procurement that align with internal stakeholders. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs. • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and performance with commercial suppliers. • Guarantee appropriate communication, reporting and cooperation with all stakeholders. • Minimize working capital/inventories. • Identify key materials for regional sourcing and contact potential business partners to start sourcing discussions. • Establish production part approval processes and new vendor evaluation programs. • Any Additional responsibilities in procurement that management considers as part of your duties KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy. • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration. • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. • Problem-solving and decision-making aptitude. • Strong negotiation skills and experience with vendor management. • Excellent organizational and time management abilities. • Proficient in inventory management software (ERP systems like SAP, Oracle, or similar). • Strong analytical skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions • Knowledge of supply chain processes, forecasting, and demand planning.
