View Job
Compensation$120K - 200K a year

Oversee and develop the company's money transmission compliance program, manage regulator relationships, and ensure compliance infrastructure supports business growth. | Extensive experience in financial compliance, especially in money transmission, AML/KYC, and working with regulators, with at least 12 years in relevant roles. | We’re looking for a Director & Head of Compliance, Money Transmission to join Procore’s Legal, Regulatory & Compliance (LRC) Department. In this role, you will oversee the compliance aspects of Procore’s Money Transmitter License (MTL) program, including responsibility for our overarching MTL compliance strategy, policy governance, operational execution, and managing our relationships with MTL regulators. You will partner closely with key stakeholders across the business, including Product, Engineering, Finance, and LRC, to ensure that Procore’s payments product continues to build upon and strengthen the foundation of trust, integrity, and regulatory excellence already established. This position will report to our VP & Associate General Counsel, Product, Privacy & IP. This role can be based in Austin, TX or another of our U.S. office locations or may be remote for the right candidate. What You’ll Do • Lead the full lifecycle of our multi-state MTLs, serving as the primary liaison for state regulators (e.g., NY DFS, CA DFPI) and managing examinations with a focus on transparency, proactive communication, and strategic remediation. • Own the end-to-end strategy for our MTL compliance policy framework, ensuring that we have the right policies and procedures in place to meet evolving regulatory requirements. • Scale our compliance infrastructure into a world-class, exam-ready machine capable of supporting massive transaction volumes and ensuring our program evolves ahead of our growth. • Develop and deliver required MTL-related training and education to relevant employees. • Help optimize our end-to-end compliance technology by ensuring our KYC/KYB, transaction monitoring, and sanctions screening systems are high-fidelity, low-friction, and scalable. • Act as a key partner to Product, Engineering, Finance, and other LRC functions, helping them understand our regulatory obligations, and working to ensure compliance by design. • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies and controls for fraud detection and elimination. • Serve as the MTL compliance lead to Procore’s money transmitter subsidiary. • Partner with Treasury and Finance on liquidity and surety requirements, while leading independent audits and bank partner reviews. What We’re Looking For • 12+ years of relevant financial compliance experience, including at least 5 years at a public enterprise SaaS, fintech, or high growth technology company. Success in this role requires the ability to translate rigid banking regulations into agile software workflows, rather than relying solely on traditional banking or law firm playbooks. CAMS certification required. • Proven experience designing, implementing, and overseeing AML, KYC, and KYB programs, coupled with a deep understanding of the Bank Secrecy Act, OFAC requirements, and consumer protection standards, including UDAAP. • Deep, practical expertise in money transmitter laws and NMLS management, including experience working with and seeking guidance from state regulators on issues that arise, and having "exam stamina" to lead complex regulatory audits and achieve effective outcomes. • Curious mindset regarding how our products work and a proactive approach in bringing new ideas to the table that strengthen our compliance posture while simultaneously ensuring a delightful and seamless experience for our customers. • Systems builder with a proven track record of moving beyond policy-writing to build scalable operational systems, leveraging the latest technology and AI tools to enhance program efficacy. • Natural collaborator who is organized, efficient, resourceful with exceptional follow-through skills, and can translate complex regulatory requirements into clear business strategies for Product and Engineering teams. • Demonstrated track record of motivating and influencing both internal and external stakeholders, including experience interacting directly with executive leadership and boards of directors and able to present complex risk data in a concise, actionable format. • Ability to operationalize regulatory requirements within a fast-moving corporate environment. Additional Information Base Pay Range: For Los Angeles County (unincorporated) Candidates: Procore will consider for employment all qualified applicants, including those with arrest or conviction records, in accordance with the requirements of applicable federal, state, and local laws, including the City of Los Angeles’ Fair Chance Initiative for Hiring Ordinance, the Los Angeles County Fair Chance Ordinance for Employers, and the California Fair Chance Act.
