Lead and manage a large portfolio exceeding $200M, oversee multiple teams, ensure contractual delivery, manage P&L, develop strategies for growth, and foster continuous improvement. | Senior leadership experience with 15+ years in operations and people management, business acumen in budgeting and financials, federal contract environment knowledge, ability to obtain Top-Secret clearance, and advanced degree preferred. | General Summary The Senior Director of Operations will report to the Vice President, Operations, and will oversee a diverse portfolio exceeding $200M annually. This role is crucial for ensuring the successful delivery of services to U.S. and international government clients as well as commercial aerospace customers with delivered capabilities in supply chain, operations, maintenance, and contingency solutions. You will be directly responsible for managing profit, loss, schedule, and delivery, while driving revenue, income, and cash flow, including the addition of new lines of business. Key to success is leading teams, leveraging technology, and developing and executing strategies to support future growth, with a focus on increasing margins and evolving differentiated solutions. Responsibilities Leading complex portfolio of solutions to ensure successful delivery of contractual requirements. Managing the quarterly and annual budgeting process and P&L responsibilities. Balance customer expectations with internal business goals, ensuring alignment with overall company strategy. Direct large functional teams through the execution of process roadmaps, integrating quality and resource management into project planning. Build and maintain strong customer relationships, positioning the company as a leader in delivering innovative, cutting-edge solutions. Collaborate with stakeholders to develop and implement long-term strategies that meet business and customer objectives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement, developing differentiated solutions that support future growth and increase margins. Develop and mentor a diverse team of senior program managers and operations managers, focusing on leadership development and succession planning. Qualifications Proven track record as a senior leader with experience in operational and people management, including managing multiple teams. Experience working in cross-functional roles and in business operations. Proven experience leading and developing large, complex proposal solutions, with a successful track record of leveraging technology to achieve maximum results. Strong business acumen with experience in budgetary planning, cost control, and financial management. Bachelor's degree in engineering, sciences, business, or a related field, with at least 15 years of directly related experience (20 years of experience considered in lieu of formal education). Relevant experience can be used as a substitute for a degree. Advanced degree (M.S./MBA) in a related field is preferred. Experience in a federal contract environment, with knowledge of successful management operating system (MOS) techniques and principles. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance. Current Top-Secret security clearance is preferred. Ability to travel OCONUS as needed. Preferred location of Houston, Texas or DC Metro. Remote possible based on qualifications. This role oversees large-scale government contracts and international operations, ensuring excellence in program execution, contract compliance, and customer satisfaction. The Director will drive operational efficiency, manage diverse teams, and leverage technology and process improvements to deliver mission-critical results. The role will require frequent/constant on-site presence at OCONUS sites. Responsibilities Lead delivery across base operations support contracts, logistics, and sustainment programs in global locations. Act as the Contractor’s representative ensuring that all task order requirements are met and that customer satisfaction is at its highest. Oversee a diverse portfolio valued at $50M to $100M annually. Serve as the primary liaison with U.S. Government stakeholders, including NAVFAC, ensuring contract performance and alignment with mission objectives. Direct workforce management for large, diverse teams across multiple sites. Partner with senior leadership to identify new business opportunities, support proposal development, and drive growth in strategic programs. Ensure compliance with all safety, security, and regulatory standards while fostering a culture of accountability and performance. Qualifications Experience with global defense operations and contingency environments. Strong leadership presence with the ability to inspire, motivate, and guide large teams under challenging conditions. Skilled in leveraging technology and process optimization to drive mission success. Proficiency in budgeting, cost control, and financial analysis, with the ability to manage a large budget effectively and ensure cost-efficient delivery of services. Experience in effectively dealing with international staff, and sensitivity to other cultures. Experience supporting Department of Navy clients, particularly NAVFAC. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field. PMP is preferred. Ability to obtain and maintain a Top-Secret security clearance. Current Top-Secret security clearance is preferred.
