The OR Center for Career Development in Childcare and Education (OCCD) resides in the College of Education at Portland State University. Position Summary This position exists within the Oregon Center for Career Development in Childhood Care and Education (OCCD), a non-academic unit of Portland State University. OCCD promotes the quality of childhood care and education for Oregon’s children and families by providing a statewide career development system for practitioners. OCCD is a fast paced, joint decision-making environment that adheres to high professional ethical standards and promotes lifelong learning. This position operates within the Training & Education functions of the OCCD at a secondary support level. Regularly serves as a technical leader and expert regarding trainer and training development. Performs project oversight, as needed, for challenging and unique functions and programs depending on grant requirements. This position works closely with the supervisor, coordinator, and other OCCD professional and support staff, in accomplishing these responsibilities. Within the Training & Education functions, this position has responsibility for providing assistance and professional support to the Coordinator of Training & Education. Assistance and professional support may be provided in such areas as: Assist with monitoring of Statewide Training Calendar, Trainer & Coaching Standards; Training Systems Development and Implementation; Training Curricula development and delivery, Trainer Presentation & Media Packages: Training of Trainers, review, CCR&R Liaisons, DELC; Trainer Review Teams; Partner Presentation & Education. The starting annual salary for this position will be between $54,072 and $58,428, but may be negotiated above this range, dependent upon the factors above, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. The Senior Data and Research Analyst supports student success assessment, research and strategy development activities in contribution to Portland State’s strategic goal to Elevate Student Success. The Senior Data and Research Analyst is responsible for extracting, analyzing, and reporting data from both institutional and external databases; modeling, analysis, and interpretation of information; and employing data mining or analytics in support of decision making. Often this will involve quantitative data, but will also involve qualitative data at times. The Senior Data and Research Analyst will be responsible for reporting on findings to the Office of Student Success as well as the PSU community and for assistance with the development of student success project assessment plans, and analysis of project assessments. This position specifically works on student success projects and initiatives that are supported by the funding received from the Association of Public and Land Grant Universities’ Transformational Change Collaborative grant.
