Job Purpose: The Sales Manager North America is responsible for driving sales performance and leading strategic business initiatives in the US and Canadian animal health markets. As a hands-on leader, this role oversees sales operations and stakeholder engagement, maintaining close and respectful relationships with key industry players while serving as a trusted representative of Pharmacosmos. Reporting directly to Head of Global Animal Health at the headquarters in Denmark, the Sales Manager ensures that North American activities are closely aligned with the company’s global business strategy. Key Responsibilities: Sales Leadership & Management • Collaborate with the Head of Global Animal Health leading in Tender Business, loyalty pricing and overall Sales-, marketing and price strategies. • Collaborate with the Director of Technical Service to drive sales efforts, ensuring sales targets and objectives are consistently met or exceeded. • Hands-on of all sales-related activities, including but not limited to pricing, rebate and margin rates. • Back-office process of budgeting and forecasting to ensure the alignment of financial objectives with company goals. • Ensuring all business intelligence are documented and kept as company intelligence creating visibility across the Pharmacosmos A/S entities. • Collaborate with HQ and other departments to manage supply levels and ensure stock availability aligns with market demand. • Maintain strong relationships with distributors, ensuring effective distribution and stock management across the supply chain. Marketing & Campaign Development • Collaborate with the Uniferon Brand Manager, HQ Marketing & Global Communication Team to design and implement marketing campaigns targeting veterinarians, pig farms, and distributors in the US and Canadian markets. • Oversee the development and execution of marketing materials, ensuring consistency with overall business strategy and brand messaging. • Ensure all marketing content complies with internal policies and external regulatory requirements, securing necessary approvals from compliance teams. Stakeholder Engagement • Build and strengthen relationships with veterinarians, distributors, farms, and key opinion leaders (KOLs) to drive sales growth and increase market engagement. Supply Chain & Operations • Collaborate with HQ supply chain teams to ensure timely product availability and clear, efficient communication. • Manage the end-to-end supply chain process, including demand forecasting and on-time distribution to major pig farms and distributors. • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with HQ to maintain sufficient stock to meet market needs. • Oversee the invoicing process to guarantee accuracy and ensure timely billing of all product sales. Product & Market Development • Provide field support for field testing and technical evaluations of products • Collaborating with HQ to align on market needs and product innovations. Strategic Planning & Execution • Lead forecasting and budgeting efforts to drive financial planning for the North America animal health business. • Monitor and manage budget performance, adjusting plans as necessary to meet financial targets. • Ensure accurate and timely reporting of sales, budget, and forecast data to global leadership. Congress & Industry Participation • Represent Pharmacosmos at scientific and industry congresses, maintaining a strong presence within the pig farming and veterinary communities. Policies, Procedures & Compliance: • Stay current and in compliance both individually and as a sales organization. This includes all Corporate Policies as well as mandated government Regulations • Stay current with and adhere to all policies and procedures as outlined in the employee handbook • Stay current and within compliance of all Expense Policies and monitor sales organization’s performance at budget quarterly • Strictly adhere to administrative requirements as directed by Pharmacosmos • Other duties as assigned Education & Professional Background: • BS/BA degree required; advanced degree (e.g., MBA) preferred. • Minimum 10 years of experience in the veterinary industry, with a strong focus on the swine sector. • At least 5 years of experience in veterinary sales, including responsibility for developing and executing national sales strategies. • Proven track record of building and managing relationships with key stakeholders, including C-level executives, veterinarians, and buying groups.
