PRIMARY PURPOSE Prepares recipes and menu items used in the provision of meals to Parkland patients, café customers, and catered events. Prepares 'made to order' entrees on café serving lines.   MINIMUM SPECIFICATIONS Education Must have a High School diploma or GED.   Experience  Must have six month of experience as a cook or culinary school graduated, an assistant cook in hospital foodservice, restaurant, or institutional cooking of a comparable nature.   Equivalent Education and/or Experience May have an equivalent combination of education and/or experience in lieu of specific experience as stated above.   Certification/Registration/Licensure Must have a certificate of completion of a food handler training course accredited by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and/or the Texas Department of State Health Services (TXDSHS) or must obtain one within sixty (60) days of placement in the role.   Skills or Special Abilities Must be familiar with a variety of foods, seasonings, recipe procedures, ingredient measurements and knowledge of time estimates for food preparation. Must have proficient knowledge of the use and care of institutional kitchen equipment including ovens, steamers, grills, fryers, slicers, braising pans, etc.  Must have good customer service skills.  Must be able to read and follow recipe instructions and food production guides and communicate effectively with departmental personnel.   Responsibilities Follows correct preparation techniques in preparing food items for Parkland patients, café customers, and catered events. Assembles recipes, follows production work sheets and prepares required types and quantities of menu items to meet patient and customer meal service needs. Follows correct work processes and kitchen work flow. Implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity, efficiency that support the overall goals of the Hospital and Parkland. Reads and follows recipes and production guides accurately. Notifies production management staff of problems with recipes or recipe ingredients. Provides direction to assistant cooks and other assigned personnel in the preparation of recipes and use of production equipment. Assures the safe and sanitary operation of all quantity food production equipment, follows food sanitation guidelines and safe food handling techniques. Follows work safety policies to assure the department and Parkland are in compliance. Serves in the capacity of cook on service lines with made to order entrees, including the grill line, pasta line, Chef¿s Choice line and deli. Notifies supervisors of customer service issues to assure that quality meal services are maintained. Serves as relief person for emergency backup to kitchen preparation and production staff to assure satisfactory levels of food preparation and production are maintained.   Job Accountabilities Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Primary Purpose Responsible for providing oversight and design of enterprise-wide quality analytics management and reporting. This position utilizes and manipulates a variety of data platforms, formats and applications; develops reports integrating numerous data sources; and constructs and maintains dashboards and dashboards elements. Leverages expertise to provide support to key functional areas of the Quality and Patient Safety (QPS) Division and throughout the enterprise. Collaborates between the QPS Division and other departments, service lines, clinicians and vendors. Continuously improves divisional data analytic and reporting strategies and capabilities. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner that consistent with our mission and values. Minimum Specifications Salary $83k- $110k depending on years of experience Education • Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics, Information Technology, Nursing, or clinically related field required from an accredited college or university. • Master's Degree in Health Informatics, Biostatistics, Business Administration, Public Health, or a related field preferred. Experience Two (2) years of experience in data management and analytics preferably in a healthcare setting; to include • Experience in data warehouse, data mart, or other big data settings. • Experience working with an integrated Electronic Medical Record (EMR) application. • Experience working with Business Intelligence (BI) tools and/or languages, such as Crystal reporting, Web Intelligence reporting, and dashboards (or similar analytics application such as Tableau or Power BI) • Experience using SQL (Structured Query Language) server-based SQL coding or Oracle PL-SQL (Procedural Language/Structured Query Language) Requirements for PCHP: • Experience working with Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS) and healthcare analytics required. Minimum Specifications: Education - Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing (BSN). Experience - Minimum of four (4) years of professional nursing experience. - Prefer experience in an acute care setting in Psychiatry Services or Emergency Department, and/or a combination of both providing direct patient care in a high-acuity, fast-paced hospital environments. Certification/Registration/Licensure: • Current, valid RN license or temporary RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing, or valid Compact RN license. • Current, valid healthcare provider Basic Life Support (BLS) completion card, and the ability to maintain thereafter from one of the following: American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or Military Training Network. • Current, valid SAMA certification, levels 1-4 before first clinical orientation shift and no later than 30 days upon hire or placement in the role. Documents and supervises unit/patient information including charts, surveys, reports, research, correspondence, statistics and quarterly reports to ensure efficient, accurate data. • Selects, trains, supervises, motivates and evaluates assigned staff. Assesses patient needs and staff capabilities, scheduling staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities, while providing optimal service to internal and external customers. Ensures assigned staff receive opportunities to further their knowledge. Serves as a role model and resource. Evaluates staff competencies and delegates tasks effectively. Directs staff meetings, interviews, trains, counsels and provides other personnel activities to ensure that clinical activities meet department and Parkland goals and mission objectives. • Serves as a clinical resource, maintains skills and promotes staff development. Responsible for maintaining Nursing Standards and Practices on the unit. • Responsible for establishing and maintaining effective unit procedures. Develops and evaluates staff activities to promote knowledge of all rules, regulations, policies, procedures, laws and guidelines, including The Joint Commission, that impact the unit and ensures compliance. Collaborates with Directors, Quality/Risk Management and Nursing Administration. Maintains communication on hospital wide practices through committee participation. • Responsible for a collaborative work team to ensure positive working relationships. Communicates effectively with physicians, students, and other departments such as Respiratory Therapy, Pharmacy, Environmental and Linen Services. Maintains good communication with other hospitals, government/regulatory agencies and community representatives. • Responsible for performance improvement practices on the unit. Collaborates with staff, physicians, administration and risk management to evaluate and improve patient services. Identifies and analyzes the design of jobs, work processes and flows in the unit and implements appropriate changes to improve effectiveness, productivity and efficiency that support the overall goals of the department and Parkland. • Responsible for effective facility management as measured by cleanliness, proper type, amount and functioning of equipment and overall environmental safety. Oversees timely and effective maintenance of equipment and rooms. Responsible for space planning, including renovations, capital repairs and acquisitions. Ensures informed use of department resources through clear policies including equipment, supplies, personnel hiring/training practices and service utilization. • Develops and administers the annual budget (capital, operating and payroll) to ensure that the unit has the necessary funds to carry out established goals and objectives.
