Orbital is seeking an Electrical Distribution Project Scheduler for a REMOTE WORK role to join a team of specialists that supports a vast portfolio of projects in the field of Electric Utility Design and Construction. Project types include Distribution Line and Substation. Projects are constructed throughout the Northeast United States. Candidates must possess experience with Electric Utility Transmission or Distribution Projects. This is a fully REMOTE role; candidates located in the EST Time Zone (UTC-4) are preferred as daily responsibilities may require participation in virtual meetings as early as 8 AM EST through 5 PM EST. There are multiple positions available that may be filled at the Entry-level, Mid-level or Senior Scheduler level Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To • Data Entry and Maintenance: Inputting project data into the Primavera P6 system, including project activities, durations, resources, and relationships between tasks. Includes hosting and/or attending regularly scheduled project meetings to maintain working knowledge of project status and gather information needed to complete required tasks. • Training and Learning: Continuously learning and improving your knowledge of Primavera P6, project scheduling best practices, and project management processes and practices. Candidate must be willing to ask questions and seek training required to properly execute tasks • Adherence to Standards: Following established scheduling procedures, company guidelines, and industry best practices to maintain data integrity and consistency. As a Project Scheduler – Senior-Level with 5+ years’ experience, the selected candidate is considered an expert in project scheduling, with extensive experience in managing complex projects and mentoring less experienced schedulers. The Project Scheduler – Senior-Level will play a critical role in guiding project teams, identifying and/or participating in process improvement initiatives, and ensuring successful project delivery. As a Project Scheduler – Mid-Level with 2-5 years’ experience, the selected candidate is expected to vast experience and expertise in project scheduling using Primavera P6. Candidate applying for the Project Scheduler – Mid-Level role should be comfortable working independently and must be capable of handling more complex projects. Responsibilities involve a high level of independence in managing schedules and collaborating with project teams. Project Scheduler – Mid-Level may even be tasked with assisting less experienced schedulers and team members by providing guidance, training, and support. As a Project Scheduler – Entry-Level with 0-2 years’ experience, selected candidate would begin in the role working under the guidance of a more experienced scheduler to manage and maintain project schedules using Primavera P6 software. It is essential that the candidate be receptive to feedback and eager to learn. We are primarily seeking candidates who reside in the greater Pittsburgh area, western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio, northern West Virginia and northwestern Maryland. The role will entail planning and coordinating construction activities for a designated project to ensure the goals and objectives of the project are accomplished within the project schedule and budget constraints by performing the duties listed below. Each Coordinator is assigned to one specific project for an extended period of time. The assigned project area can be located anywhere within the client’s Electric Services territory. Projects are assigned to Coordinators based on geographical location, skill level, and experience. Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To • At all times, provide safety oversight in an effort to ensure compliance with all safety procedures at site. Report safety compliance issues and safety incidents to client’s construction manager and Orbital supervisor. Work with construction supervision and on-site safety personnel to stop unsafe construction activities. • Prior to construction, participate in construction activity planning, pre-construction drawing reviews, and overall constructability reviews. Inspect construction site and complete pre-construction checklist tasks. Ensure necessary permits (local, state, environmental, etc.) and site/job specific plans (environmental, safety, etc.) are in place, signed, and posted at the job site. • During construction, inspect work to ensure that all safety and environmental policies are being followed and that the project is being constructed per the applicable specifications, drawings, and permits. Manage communication with construction crew(s), client project manager, and engineering to resolve all queries (Requests for Information or RFI’s) that may inhibit construction progress. • During construction, identify field-purchased material needs and communicate those needs to the client Construction Manager in writing. Order materials and rental equipment as necessary and coordinate deliveries. Inventory materials and identify shortages as the project progresses in order to prevent delays in schedule. • During construction, prepare Daily Log Reports that indicate progression of project to outline deficiencies in schedule, track completed construction activities, highlight safety incidents, and monitor compliance of work with specifications/drawings. • During construction, perform other miscellaneous duties including maintaining redline construction drawing markups, completing weekly safety audits, communicating scope changes, confirming utility locates, and signing crew timesheets. • In general, occasionally climb ladders and lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
