Job Details Openly is looking for a Vice President, Sales & Marketing to lead its go to market organization. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, this highly visible senior role will be responsible for leading Openly’s current business development and marketing teams that are tasked with driving exponential growth through its partnerships with independent insurance agencies. This role will be responsible for optimizing Openly’s “land & expand” growth strategy. This includes enhancing Openly’s brand awareness with independent agents, increasing Openly’s agency footprint and driving additional activity through each of Openly’s appointed agency partners. This role will also be responsible for the continued growth and expansion of tooling and data utilization in the team’s operating model that ultimately leads to internal efficiency gains. Key Responsibilities Coach, develop, and lead a high-class Openly Sales & Marketing organization. Establish and execute the Openly go-to-market strategy that optimizes agency partner sales production across Openly’s footprint; local, regional and national partnerships Enhance Openly’s internal Voice of the Agent infrastructure that combines internal continuous improvement with external agency partner feedback mechanisms. Develop Openly’s external brand positioning that strengthens Openly as the independent agency partner of choice and one that empowers the independent agent of the future. Incorporate Openly’s social media, digital marketing and external messaging strategies into the broader go-to-market strategy to drive agent engagement and awareness. Establish and manage the organization to internal KPIs that drive sales funnel efficiency gains throughout the agency lifecycle. These include both external agency partner targets and internal sales team member target KPIs. Expand and optimize the Sales & Marketing enablement functions; including tooling, processes and automations that drive internal efficiencies and remove barriers to success Align Sales & Marketing team decision making processes with the broader Openly model focused on disciplined, data-driven decisioning. Partner with Chief Operating Officer and VP, People & Culture to establish corporate brand positioning and tactics that support talent acquisition and ensure Openly is positioned as a top talent destination. Partner with Insurance Product leaders to establish annual premium growth targets, strategies and operational plans that drive industry leading premium growth. Partner with internal leaders to implement technology enhancements designed to improve Openly’s position as the product of first choice to agency partners. Partner with internal leaders to optimize Openly’s agency partner commission structure and internal sales compensation strategy. Partner with internal leaders across Insurance Product & Product & Strategy to develop and execute product and state expansion strategies. Establish and deliver on annual Sales & Marketing financial budgets. Requirements 10+ years of sales/business development/marketing experience with a track record of consistently exceeding sales targets. 5+ years of sales leadership experience with increasing responsibility. In addition, a strong record of developing sales talent is required. 3+ years P&C insurance experience is required. Experience leading a multi-disciplined sales and/or marketing function in a remote environment is critical. A passion for leadership, coaching, and developing talent. Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with people at all levels across the company Track record of strategic planning and budgeting.
