Job Description The Group Sales Manager creates group revenue for the Hotel by generating and/or developing new, referred, and repeat group business in a defined territory. The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of securing in-house group business at a similar sized luxury Hotel. This individual must have the ability to solicit and secure business from all segments within the Group Market, while maintaining the highest level of rate integrity and revenue capture for the Hotel. The applicant must be able to consistently achieve monthly revenue goals, develop and implement sales action plans, maintain positive interdepartmental communications, and complete special projects assigned by the Director of Sales & Marketing. This role is eligible for Omni's Work From Home Program! Omni Hotels & Resorts values our associate’s work/life balance and supports WFH options for our specific sales, service, revenue management and leader roles. After 90 days of employment, Group Sales Managers will be eligible to earn up to 2 WFH days and a potential 3rd if you are over 100% of your YTD goal. Please note, this program is at the sole discretion of the GM/DOSM, and has additional guidelines to adhere to. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Effectively attain assigned sales and revenue goals as well as solicitation call goals for groups. Send proposals on all leads which fit the profile of the property and actively follow through to convert from proposal to definite status. Ensures business is turned over properly and in a timely fashion for proper service delivery To merchandise as skillfully as possible the guest rooms and function space to maximize revenue potential for the hotel and to ensure that the customer has the best possible meeting experience. To achieve monthly room night and revenue goals; develop and implement sales action plans Develop, actively solicit, maintain and map group business accounts per defined territory. Identify and qualify potential prospects through participating in telemarketing, tradeshows, sales blitzes and other sales initiatives. Maintain knowledge of the competitive set and make strategy recommendations. Work with Director of Catering and Convention Services to help achieve food and beverage revenues. Maximize outcome of all sales initiatives by following up on leads, following up with clients in-house to identify additional business opportunities and aggressively managing accounts. Follow all Group Sales Standards of Operation and policies and procedures (generating and completing all necessary forms, correspondence, etc.). Properly convey rate and package information within approved limits to maximize and protect our overall hotel revenue yields. Perform in a manner that demonstrates the philosophies of The Power of One and Omni Hotels in a professional manner to clients and potential clients at every opportunity. Maintain customer relations, Global Sales Office relations, trade relations, industry relations and staff relations. Promote all Omni Properties and offer information to clients to cross sell the brand. Work closely with all departments such as Convention Services to ensure that all details are communicated for to ensure a successful meeting experience. Adhere to all of the various written mandatory standards of operations, policies and procedures, manuals, memos, oral instructions, etc., all of which go to make up the essential functions of the job. Maintain positive interdepartmental communications; participate in all sales meetings. Perform other tasks as needed or directed to ensure effective Hotel operation. Participate in development training with Omni Hotels & Resorts. Hotel Specific Essential Functions: Responsible for proactively soliciting and managing group related opportunities Taking a proactive approach to find new group accounts Field inquiries, send proposals and contracts, facilitate billing, food and beverage arrangements, and effectively communicate needs with all departments of the hotel. Negotiate pricing within booking guidelines and standard hotel procedures. Team player with a guest centric attitude to do the right thing, think creatively, be an active listener with excellent presentation skills Conducts on-site inspections, meets with, and entertains clients as needed Travels as needed to solicit business from potential clients Applicants are required to have 2-3 years previous selling experience Proven track record in pursuing, evaluating, soliciting, selling and confirming business as required in order to meet individual goals and overall budgeted sales and profitability. Qualifications Tools and Equipment: Computer and printer, typewriter, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, file folders, filing cabinet, facsimile machine Working Environment: Exterior of hotel with exposure to weather conditions Interior of hotel, in normal office conditions. Requirements Minimum 2 years hotel sales experience or the equivalent amount of industry experience; OR, equivalent combination of education and work experience. Strong business communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written Talk and listen to clients, demonstrating excellent sales skills by knowing and selling product in a professional and courteous manner Pay: $81,000-91,000/year. The pay scale provided is a range that Omni Hotels & Resorts reasonably expects to pay.
