Lead and manage complex defense programs, build relationships with military and government leaders, and guide technical and operational strategies. | Minimum 15+ years in defense acquisition or related fields, Top Secret clearance, experience with large organizations, and working with senior military/government leaders. | Position Summary The Executive Director, DAF Delivery, is a senior leadership position within Odyssey serving as a critical customer facing principal responsible for architecting and delivering systems of systems solutions to interconnected mission partners within the Department of the Air Force (DAF). Reporting directly to the Vice President, Operations, this Executive Director plays a pivotal role in the success of the company’s operational delivery and its long-term strategic direction within the Air Force and Space Force. As an operational and strategic representative for Odyssey to DAF leadership, the Executive Director is entrusted with strengthening customer relationships and driving customer satisfaction through collaborative solutioning with mission partners to discover, understand and solve their most complex system of system challenges. This position will integrate with and across the Odyssey operational delivery teams to align priorities and resources to ensure internal collaboration with Executive and Senior Leaders as we strategically address complex acquisition, technical systems, and operational challenges. The success of DAF Delivery will entail leveraging resources from across the Odyssey enterprise and may also involve enlistment of outside expertise through specialized 1099 support and strategic partnerships. The Executive Director, DAF Delivery, will help shepherd Odyssey into its next phase of execution and growth by providing informed analysis to leadership, identifying strategic opportunities, and helping shape corporate strategy based on deep mission insight and trusted relationships across the DAF. The individual must be a knowledgeable, passionate, respected, and influential leader, someone capable of solving complex mission and technological challenges, improving execution, and guiding high-performing teams. This individual functions not only as a senior leader, but also as a strategic advisor to Odyssey’s CEO and executive leadership team, to include Operations, Growth, and Corporate Integration. The influence provided through this position will directly shape Odyssey’s future, strengthen our brand, and ensure the company continues to provide exceptional service to our DAF customers. Responsibilities Duties include, but not limited to: Strategic Customer Engagement - Serve as Odyssey’s senior representative to Department of the Air Force (DAF) leadership, cultivating trusted relationships and ensuring alignment between customer mission needs and Odyssey’s delivery capabilities. Program and Acquisition Support - Guide teams through complex acquisition processes, technical systems challenges, and program transitions, ensuring compliance and mission continuity. Internal Collaboration and Alignment - Integrate with Odyssey’s executive and senior leadership to align priorities, resources, and strategic direction across operational delivery teams. Systems of Systems Architecture Leadership – Collaborate with technical experts to influence design and integration of complex systems of systems solutions across Air Force and Space Force mission areas, ensuring technical coherence and operational effectiveness. Operational Delivery Advisor – Advise and coordinate across Odyssey functional delivery teams to meet Odyssey and customer objectives, recommend solutions to execution challenges to ensure high performance standards are met across all DAF-related contracts. Strategic Planning and Growth Enablement - Identify emerging opportunities within the DAF ecosystem, provide informed analysis to Odyssey’s executive leadership, and contribute to shaping corporate strategy for future growth. Mission Insight and Advisory Role - Perform as a strategic advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team, offering deep mission insight and recommendations that influence corporate decisions and long-term planning. Talent and Resource Management - Leverage internal and external resources, including specialized 1099 support and strategic partnerships to ensure delivery excellence and responsiveness to evolving customer needs. Corporate Influence and Brand Representation - Represent Odyssey’s values and capabilities to external stakeholders, presenting thought leadership, strengthening the company’s brand and reputation within the Air Force and Space Force communities Qualifications Citizenship: Must be a US citizen Minimum Required Qualifications Clearance: Top Secret 15+ years of experience in defense acquisition, Air Force and/or Space Force Operations, and/or related professional or technical fields. Demonstrated success leading large organizations or program portfolios within DoD, Air Force, or federal contracting environments. Experience executing major acquisition programs, including research and development, integration, testing, and sustainment. Proven ability to work directly with senior military/government leaders and build trusted relationships. Experience managing classified programs and working within secure environments. Strong communication, leadership, and organizational management skills. Preferred Qualifications Clearance: TS/SCI 20+ years of military, federal civilian, or defense industry leadership experience. Prior service at SES, O-6/O-7 equivalent, or industry executive director/general manager level. Experience supporting business development, customer engagement, or strategic growth initiatives. Background in weapons systems acquisition, system of systems architecture, systems engineering, or lifecycle sustainment. Experience with organizational leadership, contract/customer relationship management, and solution architecting. Proven success mentoring early-career officers and acquisition professionals. Responsibilities Duties include, but not limited to: Possess the knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to Program Management. Must work independently and be able to apply procedures. Manage and organize resources and personnel needed to efficiently and effectively meet objectives. Assist with developing integrated risk management plans and strategies. Assist with analyzing and preparing draft recommendations relating to weapon system contractor production changes for Government consideration.
