Maintains open channels of communication through intra and inter shift reporting. Utilizes appropriate communication in all interactions; demonstrates proper telephone etiquette. Actively participates in maintaining a clean, safe, therapeutic environment, including security of patient belongings. Responds to emergency situations as appropriate. Ensures appropriate emergency equipment is present and operational. Is cognizant of HEICS plan and participates in implementing plan as required. • Obtains prior authorization for medication from patient s insurance company as needed Obtains referrals for patient tests ordered by MD as per patient's insurance requirements. Maintains exam room for necessary supplies, cleanliness. • Processes medication orders and refills through the Workflow system. Verifies dosage and medication using various tools progress notes, Clarity, physician or contacting patient if necessary. Enters comments and your initials in Workflow when receiving verbal approval from a physician to refill a prescription. • Identifies patient satisfaction/dissatisfaction with plan of care. If patient expresses dissatisfaction, implements conflict resolution skills and addresses issues with plan of care. Assess and documents patient/family advance care directives and Rights and Responsibilities if indicated. Establishes collaborative and collegial relationships with health care team members. Minimum Qualifications: To qualify you must have a High School or Equivalent Technical Diploma Graduate of accredited school of licensed practical nursing 0 - 1 year nursing experience working in a hospital, ambulatory, private practice or home health care setting preferred. Job Responsibilities: • Accurately utilizes the PACS (Picture Archival System) to make images available to the radiologist for interpretation with minimum number of exceptions. • Enters proper exam coding in the Radiology Information System and arrives and completes exams in a timely fashion. • Assists in the care and maintenance of facilities, equipment and supplies. Reports any equipment problems or malfunctions to the supervisor in a timely fashion. • Instructs and supervises radiography students in clinical practicum.
