About the Role We are hiring a Senior Program Manager to help lead the execution of critical programs, such as Nuro’s robotaxi partnership. This person will work across engineering, business, and external partner teams to set goals, track milestones, resolve issues, and keep complex work moving forward. The role is a good fit for someone who is highly organized, practical, and comfortable operating at different levels of detail—from solving day-to-day operational issues to helping communicate progress to senior partner leaders. We are looking for someone excited about autonomy, enjoys working on technical topics, and knows how to create simplicity and clarity in complex situations. About the Work Own program management for one or more of Nuro’s most important partnership programs Work with internal and external stakeholders to define goals, align on priorities, and drive execution Build and maintain clear program plans, milestones, risks, and dependency tracking Identify issues early, help teams make tradeoffs, and drive problems to resolution Coordinate across engineering, product, operations, business, and partner teams to keep work moving Create clear updates for leaders and stakeholders on progress, risks, and key decisions Build strong working relationships across Nuro and with external partners Use data and judgment to support decision-making and measure progress over time About You 5+ years of experience in consulting, program management, strategy, business operations, or related roles Experience leading complex, cross-functional programs with multiple stakeholders Strong written and verbal communication skills Comfortable working with technical teams and learning unfamiliar technical concepts quickly Experience driving execution in ambiguous environments with limited structure Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Ability to prioritize effectively and focus teams on what matters most Comfortable working with senior internal and external stakeholders At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $160,360 and $240,540 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package. About the Role Simulation is at the core of autonomy development. The Simulation team is responsible for building the simulator that powers all simulations at Nuro, allowing us to develop and test our autonomous driving technology with confidence. The team focuses on solving many novel simulation problems with innovative and creative solutions - from synthesizing sensor data and automated scenario generation, to performance and resource optimization, to framework and interface design - collaborating with teams across the company to set and expand the range of what’s possible to simulate. About the Work • Expand the functionality, performance, and usability of our simulator. • Develop innovative solutions to improve simulation realism and coverage through synthesis. • Design and build solutions to unify and simplify the interactions of complex systems. • Work across a large array of potential efforts, ranging from new greenfield projects to expanding/scaling existing systems. • Collaborate closely with autonomy engineers and build an understanding of how autonomy works to formulate the best solutions. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. This will include: • Help define the ML framework roadmap for the Training Infrastructure team. • Build and maintain a scalable, distributed training platform with an emphasis on efficiency, determinism, and reproducibility for large-scale training jobs. • Detect, diagnose, and resolve performance bottlenecks across training workflows, including input data pipelines and distributed training loops. • Optimize scheduling, training performance, resource utilization, and ensure consistent, reproducible model training outcomes. • Mentor and grow a high-performing team, fostering technical excellence and collaboration. • Drive improvements in software quality that measurably raise reliability, efficiency, reproducibility, and determinism. About You • 6+ years of professional or research experience in ML infrastructure, distributed training, or ML systems engineering. • Experience driving complex technical initiatives with stakeholder engagement. • Expertise in PyTorch; familiarity with TensorFlow, and experience optimizing training performance (e.g., host offloading, quantization, reduced-precision training). • Strong collaboration and communication skills, with a passion for exploring and promoting new approaches and technology. Bonus Points • Hands-on experience with CUDA, Triton, XLA, TPUs. • Familiarity with ML compilers, ONNX, and intermediate representations. • Experience with containerization (Docker), orchestration (Kubernetes), and ML pipeline tools (Airflow). • Practical experience with JAX. At Nuro, your base pay is one part of your total compensation package. For this position, the reasonably expected base pay range is between $222,775 and $333,925 for the level at which this job has been scoped. Your base pay will depend on several factors, including your experience, qualifications, education, location, and skills. In the event that you are considered for a different level, a higher or lower pay range would apply. This position is also eligible for an annual performance bonus, equity, and a competitive benefits package.
