Inspect, test, and verify products for conformance to specifications, record data, and recommend corrective actions. | High school diploma or equivalent, 3-5 years of quality inspection experience in a food-related industry, and proficiency with measurement tools and documentation. | Summary/Objective-Inspect, test, sort, sample, or weigh nonagricultural raw materials or processed, machined, fabricated, or assembled products for defects, and deviations from specifications. May use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment. Essential Functions Must be able to work 2nd shift. 4:00pm-12:30am • Inspect, test, or measure materials, products, or work for conformance to specifications. • Measure dimensions of products to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers. • Read data, manuals, specs, or other materials to determine specifications, inspection and testing procedures, adjustment methods, certification processes, formulas, or measuring instruments required. • Record inspection or test data, such as weights, temperatures, grades, or moisture content, and quantities inspected or graded. • Mark items with details such as grade or acceptance-rejection status. • Notify supervisors or other personnel of production problems. • Discard or reject products, materials, or equipment not meeting specifications. • Collect or select samples for testing or for use as models. • Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs. • Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or samples to verify conformance to standards. • Recommend necessary corrective actions, based on inspection results. • Grade, classify, or sort products according to sizes, weights, colors, or other specifications. • Assist in cleaning, maintaining, calibrating, or repairing measuring instruments or test equipment, such as dial indicators, fixed gauges, or height gauges. • Remove defects, such as chips, burrs, or lap corroded or pitted surfaces. • Work with production operators to collect samples Competencies Must be a team player Must be well organized Must be detailed oriented Must understand basic math skill Must be able to effectively without supervision Must be competent with Microsoft Excel Must be competent with laboratory testing equipment Must be able to read specifications and drawings Must be able to effectively communicate with every caliber of employee Must be able to effectively communicate in English (oral, verbal, and read/write); Bi-lingual in Mandarin or Spanish is beneficial but not required. Manage end-to-end shipping process including order processing, document preparation, Health Certificate handling, coordination with internal and external teams, and compliance with international shipping standards. | High school diploma with 2-3 years experience in international shipping or logistics coordination, familiarity with USDA/APHIS Health Certificate processes, and proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Office. | JOB DESCRIPTION Summary/Objective- Responsible for managing the end-to-end shipping process for domestic and international orders, ensuring timely and compliant dispatch of goods. This role requires proficiency in preparing Health Certificates (HCs) and coordinating with various internal and external departments, including production, warehouse, quality control, customers, and freight forwarders, to ensure all shipping documents are accurate and complete, meeting the import requirements of destination countries. Essential Functions 1. Order Processing & Shipping Arrangements • Receive customer orders, create and maintain shipment folders containing all relevant documents (PO, SO, Packing List, Invoice, etc.). • Confirm product readiness with the production department and coordinate with the warehouse for staging and palletizing. • Arrange domestic and international shipments by providing cargo dimensions, weight, and ready dates to customers or freight companies. • Track shipment status to ensure on-time pickup and delivery. 2. Document Preparation & Management • Prepare and review shipping documents such as Packing Lists, Commercial Invoices, Bills of Lading (BOL), and Shipper's Letters of Instruction (SLI). • Prepare and submit Health Certificates (HCs) and related supporting documents (e.g., lab reports, affidavits) according to destination country requirements. • Ensure all documents comply with the latest standards from USDA/APHIS and relevant importing countries. 3. Health Certificate (HC) Processing • Prepare Health Certificates using the most recent templates, ensuring accuracy of exporter, consignee, and product information. • Prepare appropriate HCs for both animal-origin and non-animal-origin shipments. • Submit draft HCs and supporting documents to APHIS for endorsement, obtaining approval before cargo departure from the US. • Scan and distribute endorsed HCs; mail original copies to specified addresses. 4. Internal & External Coordination • Coordinate with the Quality Control (QC) team to obtain necessary lab reports (e.g., Salmonella, Enterobacteriaceae). • Confirm document content, shipping addresses, and shipping arrangements with customers. • Communicate with freight forwarders/brokers, providing required documents and confirming vessel/flight schedules. 5. System Operation & Record Keeping • Use the MAS (SAGE) system to create packing lists, print invoices, and process sales orders. • Ensure all shipping documents are stored according to designated file paths for traceability and auditing. 6. Quality Control & Compliance • Ensure shipped goods meet customer specifications for quantity, weight, and packaging. • Ensure all international shipments have endorsed Health Certificates before the cargo leaves the US. • Identify and handle exceptions in the shipping process (e.g., shortages, overages, delays).
