The Role The Specialist, Communications is a key contributor on the team responsible for promoting and protecting Netflix’s reputation for series, films, live events and games. The ideal candidate has a passion for entertainment and business, and vast curiosity about how companies tell stories. In addition to helping define the Netflix narrative through proactive press stories, this role will support the communications strategy for our growing Consumer Products and Experiences business and franchise portfolio, including but not limited to: campaign planning and execution, product and experience launches, and media relations. This role is based out of the Los Angeles office and reports to the Manager, Communications. Our ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker and a relationship builder with communications / PR experience working on entertainment franchises and specifically in retail, consumer products, and experiences. We’re looking for a creative and collaborative team player who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and is an entrepreneurial self-starter unafraid to take calculated risks. They will have a finger on the pulse of culture with experience supporting campaigns for entertainment, media, retail or consumer products/lifestyle companies, including working with creators, licensing and retail partners, industry representatives and the press. They will be able to make wise decisions and exercise sound judgment even when faced with ambiguity. Key Responsibilities Support with developing and implementing communications strategies, messaging and plans to amplify Netflix’s consumer products and experiences initiatives, including: retail campaigns and product launches, pop-up and permanent retail storefronts, restaurants, touring experiences, and stage plays, and our newest venture - Netflix House. Work closely with external partners across consumer products and experiences to execute communications strategies and drive alignment; review plans and materials, and optimize opportunities that yield quality press coverage and reinforce Netflix and franchise positioning. Support day-to-day franchise alignment and internal review processes, interfacing with cross-functional partners, including publicity, marketing, data, consumer products, experiences, and other teams as needed. Draft communications plans, announcements, briefing materials, and messaging documents. Track, vet, and respond to media requests; developing and nurturing media contacts. Identify impactful story angles, craft pitches, and secure stories centered around Netflix’s consumer products and experiences. Track, analyze and circulate press coverage reports and competitive research. Qualifications 5+ years of experience in corporate or agency settings preferably within retail, consumer products, brand, lifestyle, and experiences. Ability to leverage insights, develop and secure stories aligned to company priorities. Good media relationships at traditional and emerging entertainment, consumer, trade and business outlets. Demonstrated track record of handling high volume of complex projects and tasks for multiple people and teams while simultaneously managing competing priorities. We are hiring full stack engineer for the MWI Messaging team in the US to take on the following responsibilities: Implement and own the feature development across UI, backend, databases and DevEx domains. Examples include UI widgets and backend APIs embeddable for business applications, and developer portals for engineering users to self-serve onboarding, debugging and operational tasks. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers and other engineers to deliver functional and polished user experience that can be adapted to a wide range of business applications across content pipelines. Netflix’s Content Programming Strategy & Operations (CPS&O) team is looking for a Manager to join its team in its Los Angeles office, supporting the Live Sports (e.g., NFL Christmas Gameday, 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup, WWE) and Sports non-fiction team (e.g., Drive to Survive, Quarterback). The CPS&O team reports into the Chief Content Officer, with this role reporting to the Director, CPS&O - Sports & Live. The CPS&O team informs content decisions and drives content operations to deliver the most thrilling content offering and value to our members. We do this by: optimizing our slate, programming and investments from pitch to play leading cross-functional coordination and driving solutions for operational challenges providing an informed perspective on future business development opportunities. We partner closely with our Content, Finance, Business Affairs, Data Science, Product, and other cross-functional teams. Responsibilities: Lead deal analysis to support content negotiations from deal pitch/sourcing through renewal Spearhead special projects for senior Netflix leaders and develop recommendations on key programming and operational issues, particularly in new business development areas Scope, launch and lead cross-functional working teams and work-flows in relation to evaluating or operationalizing live sports-related projects Lead performance analysis of launched titles and deals, including audience deep dives and data analysis, for renewal decisions Monitor portfolio-level performance and provide recommendations on content investment priorities Provide strategic support on programming, both on an individual title basis and across the entire content slate Develop deep understanding of industry trends, competitor slates, and whitespace programming opportunities Provide mentorship, thought partnership and guidance to junior executives Partner closely with Content, Finance, Business Affairs, Data Science, Product, and other cross-functional teams Qualifications: 7-10+ years of relevant work experience, MBA preferred Deep passion for sports, broader sports rights marketplace and sports-related story-telling within the non-fiction space Experience in entertainment / investment banking / management consulting / media-focused technology role; prior experience in sports a plus but not required Experience conducting quantitative analysis (including modeling) and qualitative analysis; can drive to insight and results using data Experience in content acquisition / licensing deal analysis and / or direct commercial deal-making a plus Project management / operational experience related to instituting / leading cross-functional working teams a plus Excellent communication/presentation skills with a track record of presenting complex analysis to executives/senior management clearly and concisely Strong initiative and ability to work independently, thrives in a fast-paced, always changing environment Highly intellectually curious and has the courage to challenge the status quo and exhibits the highest personal and professional standards of integrity and ethics. Excellent proficiency with MS Excel / PowerPoint; prior experience with Google productivity suite a plus Due to the nature and scope of this role, we will run a background check prior to starting with us. Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range.
