This position will report to the the Practice Support Manager and will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support in an environment where collaboration and exceptional client service is emphasized. As part of the ML LawPath® program, each position is responsible for providing a broad range of administrative and substantive legal support to a specific practice group in an environment where superior client service is emphasized. Legal Practice Assistants are offered a unique learning opportunity through practical working experience and direct exposure and engagement with case teams. They are relied upon to actively support attorneys and other legal support staff in ongoing client matters. ML LawPath® endeavors to help Legal Practice Assistants develop a well-rounded skill set and best practices that will foster their success as legal professionals and beyond. This position will reside in the New York, Philadelphia, Washington D.C or Chicago office. Flexibility with overtime is required and a commitment of two years is expected Key responsibilities of this position may include: Managing, organizing and maintaining case and client files; Manages case and client information manually and digitally through the use of electronic databases (both internal and external); Coordinating and preparing information, materials, documents, reports, and evidence; Assisting with the drafting, proofreading, editing, and gathering of factual support for internal and external requests; Supporting the development and management of case and practice group timelines; Participates in the research and analysis for mass tort matters Conducting research, fact investigations, and analysis for internal and external requests; Coordinating communication and planning across attorney teams handling multiple client matters; Assists attorneys and team paralegals with the preparation and review of various pleadings, discovery and document production materials; Distributes draft documents to attorneys and team paralegals Participates in fact investigation and research into publicly available documents; Provides administrative support, including, but not limited to, document production, expense forms/paperwork and processing vendor invoices; Drafts and assists in the preparation of meeting minutes; Participates in supervised client communications to exchange information; Performs other duties as assigned. Experience and Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required; 3.5 GPA or higher preferred; One (1) year of combined internship or professional experience preferred; Professional services industry experience a plus; Two-year commitment expected; Ability to be proactive and a self-starter; Ability to think critically and see “big picture” effects; Superior written/verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and within a team environment are a must; Exceptional leadership and organization skills; Proven ability to meet stringent deadlines, adapt to changing priorities, and balance multiple tasks while operating in a fast-paced and dynamic environment; Ability to manage confidential information with discretion; Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint; Flexibility to travel and work evening hours at times as needed. **A cover letter describing how your values, goals and experience align with the position at Morgan Lewis is expected. The Business Operations Analyst/Senior Analyst (Rate Management & New Business Intake) will play a key role in supporting the Firm’s rate management, billing administration, and new business intake (NBI) functions. This position ensures accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across client onboarding, pricing, and rate administration processes, working closely with attorneys, partners, and administrative teams to support the Firm’s financial and operational goals. This position will reside in our Philadelphia office with a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule. Key Responsibilities: • Execute and optimize the NBI process, including accurate client/matter setup in Elite 3E, ensuring fee arrangements, billing instructions, and pricing nomenclature are correctly applied. • Set up and maintain billing rates (timekeeper, client, and matter-specific) in Elite 3E, including exceptions, AFAs, and client pricing comments. • Monitor and update arrangements for associate matriculation, promotions, and other rate adjustments to ensure timely compliance. • Ensure billing instructions, task codes, pricing notes and related data are accurately captured and standardized across systems. • Analyze client pricing arrangements to confirm correct system setup and efficient execution. • Partner with attorneys, partners, and Finance/Operations teams to troubleshoot issues and ensure seamless onboarding of clients and matters. • Assess and audit the Firm’s NBI and Rate Management workflow, reviewing client/matter submissions for accuracy, policy compliance, and alignment with Standard Terms of Engagement. • Administer the Annual Rate Survey (ARS) process, ensuring accurate setup, monitoring, and reporting of firmwide rates in coordination with Finance and leadership. • Oversee data governance and operational accuracy across NBI and Rate Management processes, ensuring alignment with firm policies and pricing structures. Auxiliary Responsibilities: • Assist with system enhancements and testing (e.g., Elegrity, Workday, Elite 3E), providing feedback and troubleshooting support. • Create reports and analyses (Qlik, Excel, etc.) to support leadership, identify trends, and track compliance with client arrangements. • Support special projects and strategic initiatives, including but limited to pricing/rate reviews, revenue leakage audits, and process improvement efforts. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Business Development, Finance, HR etc.) to align operational processes with firmwide goals. • Build and maintain models, dashboards, and reporting tools to streamline internal workflows and enhance visibility into performance, matter budgets, and rate structures. • Provide ad hoc support to attorneys and leadership, including reporting on deal rates, budgets, and proforma billings.
