The hire will support a small, specialist desk of portfolio finance traders, trained to take ownership for a variety of hands-on support tasks - margin, collateral, FX management, execution etc. The role also has a core focus on the development / enhancement / optimisation / automation of current treasury & portfolio financing processes. The hire can expect to learn coding skills to a strong standard in the role, especially python. Candidates must have exceptional academic records, including a high GPA in a maths/science/engineering/technology/finance degree. We are looking for candidates with 1-3yrs experience in a treasury / finance / operations / risk function at a hedge fund, prop trading firm or an IB. Candidates should have advanced tech skills and a strong desire to significantly develop their tech skillset. The role will pay a strong performer a $225k+ TC year one, with the potential to earn a much higher comp from year two onwards. The hire will join a new ‘investment pod’, working with a high calibre investment team, as an operations analyst with ownership for a specific group of tasks focused on this particular investment strategy. The hire will also own specific projects for the desk – they are typically focused on process automation / improvements for the line tasks that you run. Those projects, alongside BAU work having a core focus on analysing large volumes of complex data, allows the hire to learn SQL, Python and VBA to a strong standard in this role. The hire can progress into either a supervisory/managerial role or a trading assistant position most likely, however moves into risk or trading operations engineer (quant) roles are possible, as are transfers to one of the firm’s emerging / expanding offices overseas. The firm have rock bottom attrition since they formed – employees work in a fantastic office environment / culture, they receive fully subsidised breakfast / lunch / snacks daily, receive a fantastic benefit package + the firm have flexibility around an employee’s preference to work from home (albeit ideally the hire will work from the office at least 3 days per week).
