Position Summary: The Senior Accounting Manager is responsible for oversight of Accounting and Internal Control activities ensuring compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). The Senior Accounting Manager is expected to be hands-on and transformative. They will ensure comprehensive, accurate, and timely financial statements while creating a best-in-class accounting function that drives visibility, control, and efficiency. They will develop and implement an internal control framework to minimize financial risks and ensure compliance with industry regulations. Responsibilities: Core Accounting Duties Ensure comprehensive, accurate, and timely financial statement reporting. Prepare reports that present key insights, trends, and variances to company leadership. Lead the research and interpretation of complex accounting topics and transactions in accordance with GAAP. Provide technical guidance on various accounting matters including revenue recognition, lease accounting, stock-based compensation, business combinations, and other relevant topics that arise. Interface with the external auditors to ensure close collaboration on technical accounting guidance and adequacy of internal controls. Support leadership by undertaking assignments on ad hoc reporting, projects, or other special initiatives. Lead with an Owner’s Mindset Act as a financial steward of the company; protect and grow the business through clear insights and optimization of accounting processes and controls. Challenge the status quo, be a self-led learner, and eliminate waste tough calls on people, processes, and systems. Work cross functionally to drive the selection, implementation, and execution of accounting systems and processes that maximize our use of technology. Build and Maintain a Best-in-Class Control Framework Lead the development of a robust internal control environment at Milo’s. Mature, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines to mitigate risk and maximize the protection of company assets, policies, procedures, and workflows. Regularly review financial processes, controls, and procedures to scale controls as the business grows and matures. Develop and Elevate the Accounting Team Foster a culture of ownership, accuracy, and continuous improvement within the department. Assess the current team, upgrade talent where needed, and build a high-performing, accountable group. Mentor and grow future leaders; create individual development plans and clear career paths. Other Upholds and demonstrates leadership in all Corporate Responsibility programming including recycling, social advocacy, and MMAD volunteering opportunities. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field. 5-7 years of relevant experience. 3+ years management experience preferred C.P.A. required; MBA preferred. Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts. Manufacturing experience strongly preferred Effective verbal and written communication skills to engage stakeholders at all levels. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail. Strong desire to continuously research and implement ideas to improve accounting activities. Ability to develop strong working relationships with cross functional partners to drive success of organization. To perform this job successfully an individual should have significant experience using MS Office suite, internet-based software and Accounting or ERP software.

Evaluate jobs by reviewing job descriptions and analyzing best practices and benchmark data both internally and externally. Continually review the organization’s comparative position relative to market data and determine appropriate salary grades and job attributes. Model compensation alternatives and cost out changes; make appropriate recommendations. Coordinate with People Systems TEAm to create report templates that meet compensation reporting needs. Compliance and Policy Management: Ensure compensation practices comply with federal and state regulations, including FLSA. Review and revise compensation policies and procedures as necessary. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in compensation management. Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with People, Finance, and management teams to develop and implement compensation programs. Leading the annual merit processes and training for the business in partnership with the People TEAm. Participate in special projects as needed. Present compensation recommendations to management and justify suggestions with data. Salary Surveys and Reporting: Complete timely and accurate salary surveys and analyze results as necessary.
