The Delivery Assistant is a physical, fast-paced position providing direct support to a McLane Delivery Driver. As a Delivery Assistant, you will not be driving the delivery truck. The Maintenance I teammate troubleshoots, repairs, and perform preventive maintenance actions on material handling equipment and other facility support systems in the distribution center environment. What You’ll Do As a Warehouse Maintenance I • Ensure that spare parts usage, inventory and work order actions are accurately tracked and documented according to Company policy. • Assist with DC maintenance requirements such as (but not limited to) refrigeration systems, plumbing, building lighting, welding, dock doors, air systems, racking, tote washer, and air spray painting. • Maximize availability of all classes of batteries by managing charging cycles and battery rotation. • Perform inspections and cleaning; do specific gravity checks; evaluate cable serviceability and repair damage. • Develop a working knowledge of the required aspects of the McLane Maintenance Connection database. • Other duties may be assigned.
