Develops and manages client relationships, identifies new business opportunities, and formulates capture strategies. | Requires experience in business development, client engagement, and knowledge of the AEC industry, with strong communication and organizational skills. | Overview: EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION: Experienced Business Development professional with proven experience developing client relationships and identifying new business opportunities. Responsibilities: MAIN DUTIES • Primary duty is business development, encompassing development of clients and opportunities throughout the firm for all services. Applies best-practice business development processes. • Builds relationships, identifies specific opportunities with key clients. • Represents firm before key target client audiences, networking events, etc. • Leads efforts in formulating strategies, assembling teams, developing proposals. • Transitions responsibilities to Client Executives upon award of contracts. • Aligns Key Client activities with Service Lines for good strategic fit. • Coordinates recruiting actions for specific opportunities with Service Line Leaders. RESPONSIBILITIES • Assesses opportunities with Key Client for potential. • Expands client contacts. • Recommends marketing/campaigns strategy options to expand presence with Key Client. • Researches and analyzes Key Client to determine underlying needs. • Attends Key Client industry briefings. • Plans and documents capture activities. • Prepares and coordinates Interest and Pursuit Decision Meetings for opportunities with their designated clients. • Develops pursuit timeline and identifies potential marketing support. • Monitors release of solicitations. • Collects and analyzes competitive intelligence. • Formulates capture strategies to capture additional work with Key Client. • Writes subcontractor’s plans and/or teaming scopes of work. • Implements capture strategies, actions plan and collaborates on potential pricing strategy with Service Line Leader. • Plans actions to influence customers. • Collaborates with internal Service Strategy & Delivery (SS&D) team to develop compelling solutions to clients’ problems. • Reviews solicitations and comments on potential winning strategy. • Participates in proposal kick-off meetings. • Collaborates with internal team on proposal preparations. • Executes and monitors capture plans. • Conducts pink team proposal reviews, as needed. • Coordinates hand-offs of contracts to Service Executives or technical teams. • Maintains client contact. • Conducts periodic check-ins with Key Client. ADDITIONAL DUTIES: • Participate in professional association organizations and activities. • Assist in writing or editing proposals. • Ability to travel throughout the United States. • Other duties as assigned . Qualifications: EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE: Bachelor’s degree in related field. Significant work-related experience performing similar duties to those outlined below. Experience in areas such as developing and managing capture strategies for new project opportunities. Knowledge of the AEC industry and familiarity with government or institutional procurement procedures. SKILLS AND ABILITIES: Ability to develop strong relationships with current and potential clients. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Strong writing and presentation skills. Highly detail-oriented and organized in work with the ability to handle multiple projects/priorities simultaneously. GUIDANCE/RESPONSIBILITY: Ability to work independently and make decisions. Receives direction from and reports directly to the Executive Vice President, Client Solutions. For this position, we seek candidates in the Washington/Baltimore DC metropolitan area with 10 or more years of combined education and/or experience and demonstrated advanced knowledge and expertise in the design and/or construction of secure facilities, including secure compartmented information facilities (SCIF) and associated components, systems, and accreditation procedures. Experience in supporting the successful delivery of new and/or renovated laboratory, data center, and/or secure facilities with high-density power and multi-class distribution IT and AV systems is desired. Evidence of progressive career development and demonstrated expertise in contract administration, change management, construction quality assurance, construction management, field engineering, or related fields. Responsibilities MAIN DUTIES: Duties include providing pre-construction and construction phase owner representation for medium- to large-scale projects, either as part of a team or working independently, depending on the project's size and complexity. Responsibilities include managing cost, schedule, and/or quality on behalf of the client/owner. Typical duties include: Working collaboratively with the project delivery team to proactively identify risks and issues and develop mitigation strategies. Reviewing project schedules to verify they are complete, feasible, and reasonable. Specific scheduling experience is not required, but it is desired. Reviewing and tracking progress against the accepted schedule. Participate and/or lead progress meetings. Prepare meeting minutes or review meeting minutes prepared by others to verify completeness and accuracy. Provide quality management, including participation in preparatory/pre-installation meetings, and perform or oversee the performance of Quality Assurance (QA) inspections to verify that work is being performed in compliance with contract requirements. Document and track issues until resolution, including working collaboratively with the contractor, designer, and owner to resolve issues as they arise. Review change order proposals for entitlement and price, and lead or assist in negotiations. Coordinate reviews and testing with accreditation authorities and authorities having jurisdiction. Coordinate reviews or installations by third-party specialty stakeholders, consultants, or installers as related to electronic security, doors and hardware, and IT/AV system. Coordinate punchlist and acceptance with the designer and other project stakeholders. Monitor and verify completion of closeout requirements, including owner training, operations and maintenance manuals, warranties, and stock materials. Qualifications EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE: High school or General Equivalency Diploma (GED), plus 15 years of related experience and/or education. Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or related field, plus 10 years of related experience Knowledge of ICD-705 requirements and ICS-705 standards Possess OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain within 3 months of hire. Working knowledge of basic mathematics, including computations based on field measurements. Considerable construction-related training or a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the job. Knowledge of codes, materials, methods, and tools utilized in construction, repair, or renovation work. Preferred certifications include CQM (Construction Quality Management) and CCM (Certified Construction Manager).
