This role will lead design for a cross-functional team focused on core platform initiatives, AI-powered experiences, and maintaining system-wide consistency across our member-facing products. We’re looking for someone excited to tackle ambiguous problem spaces, design from 0→1, and contribute to defining the future of Maven’s product architecture and member experience. This role is ideal for a designer who thrives at the intersection of systems thinking, visionary user experience, and visual polish. As a Senior Product Designer at Maven, you will: Drive the design strategy for foundational member experiences that span multiple products, platforms, and teams - including navigation, personalization, and AI-assisted workflows. Lead 0→1 product design for AI-powered tools that support both members and providers, collaborating closely with product, engineering, data analytics, and research partners. Partner with engineering and product leadership to evolve and scale Maven’s design system, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and craft across platforms (web, iOS, Android). Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to build roadmaps, define product vision, and prioritize high-impact design opportunities across the platform. Conduct and synthesize user research to validate ideas, uncover insights, and shape the product direction - especially in new or rapidly evolving spaces. Design and ship high-quality experiences across the end-to-end product development cycle, from early concept to implementation and QA. Facilitate design critiques, workshops, and sprints that promote cross-functional alignment and creative exploration. Regularly contribute to and elevate Maven’s design culture by sharing work, mentoring peers, and pushing our design practice forward. We’re looking for you to bring: 5–8 years of product design experience, including deep involvement in 0→1 product development and platform-level work. A strong portfolio that shows end-to-end thinking - research, concepting, systems, interaction, and visual design - across complex, multi-platform products. Systems thinking and a passion for building scalable experiences that support both near-term needs and long-term evolution. Fluency in visual design - typography, layout, branding, motion - and a high bar for craft and polish. Comfort navigating ambiguity and shaping direction in early-stage product environments. Experience designing for multiple modalities and surfaces, including AI features, chat interfaces, or dynamic personalization systems (a plus). Fluency in Figma, including component-driven workflows and auto layout best practices. Strong collaboration and communication skills, with experience working across engineering, product, and data teams to bring work to life. Motivation to work in a mission-driven, fast-paced startup focused on reimagining women’s and family healthcare. The base salary range for this role is $175,000 - $195,000 per year. You will also be entitled to receive stock options and benefits. Individual pay decisions are based on a number of factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, and skillset. This role requires active work authorization in the US. Maven embraces a flexible hybrid work model. Our teams primarily operate from the New York Metropolitan area, NY, and remotely via San Francisco/Bay Area, CA, Seattle, WA, Boston, MA, Chicago, IL, and Washington, D.C. For those in our New York City office, we encourage in-person collaboration by requiring team members to work onsite three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
