Operate front-end loader safely and efficiently while maintaining work area and assisting with maintenance and training. | High school diploma or equivalent, safety conscious, able to operate loaders 982 size or larger, and six months loader operation experience preferred. | Position Summary Responsible for safely and efficiently operating a front-end loader, CAT 982 up to CAT 988 size, in an aggregate sales yard environment. Daily pre and post-inspection of the working area safely maintaining work areas with adequate berms and roadways. Follow correct loading practices. Maintaining the quality of product stockpiles. Safe work around conveyors and surge piles at all times. Maintain safe working speeds and promote the leadership of truck drivers. Assist in the maintenance of the loader and perform daily preventative maintenance on loader. Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor. Responsibilities: • Prioritizes SAFETY, then QUALITY, followed by PRODUCTION. • Will take an active role in the plant safety initiatives. • Ensures a safe work environment for self and others at all times • Assist with training co-workers as needed. • Daily Pre and Post Inspections of the work area • Safe Loading and dumping operations around conveyors and surge piles. • Maintain Adequate roadways. • Proper quality control for product stockpiles • Maintain safe traffic flow in the yard. • Participates in other tasks required by the supervisor. • Customer orientation and the ability to adapt/respond to different types of characters Requirements: • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent experience. • Must be safety conscious, dependable, motivated, and possess a positive attitude in working with others as a team. • Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen, physical, and background check. • Must be able to use hand tools and grease gun to perform all phases of loader maintenance. • Six months of experience in the operation and maintenance of a front-end loader preferred. • Maintain leadership in Yard Operations • Must be able to operate loaders 982 size or larger. Physical Requirements • Must have hand-eye coordination and vision to safely operate mobile equipment. • Must be able to perform duties in a safe manner. This job requires the ability to wear a hard hat, safety glasses, steel-toed boots and hearing protection. • Able to work outdoors in varying weather conditions. • Able to lift 25 pounds. • Willing and able to use a shovel when required. • Willing to work overtime and weekends as needed. • Able to work from The base range for this position is $30.00-$45.00 exclusive of benefits or bonuses (discretionary and non-discretionary). The offered base hourly compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, business need, market conditions, proficiencies, skills, education, and experience. Shift: 7am to 5pm, 50hour work week - Salary + OT pay Job Responsibilities • Coordinates internal resources, i.e. Sales, Orders, Technical Services, Services assigned and unassigned customers with concrete, cement and ash delivery scheduling, job-site issues, resource dispatching and account issues. • Ensures the daily shipment and production schedule for current day and next day is accurate and up to date, so others can rely on the schedule for decisions making. • Generates the driver call-In times for next day and willing to work evenings and weekends to update schedule. • Review all orders for scheduling conflicts, problems, and errors one day prior to delivery • Reviews all concrete orders and makes changes to maximize service while minimizing nonproductive time of equipment and personnel. • Develops and maintains relationships with assigned customer accounts. Creates and processes job reports for assigned projects, including all mix design submittals • Maintains up-to-date understanding and first-hand knowledge of specific job site constraints, such as vehicle entrance, operational time restrictions, wash-out locations, plant maintenance etc. • Evaluates material sourcing and mix design specifications in order to designate primary and secondary delivery plant locations, and coordinates with Technical Services to ensure that each of the assigned project’s mix designs are made available to batch at both plants • Responsible for taking action for decisions on delivery, production, and fleet when customer variables occur • Answers phone calls when needed and follows the CSR job description when taking customer orders along with cross training with dispatchers. • Ensures the customer understands all relevant company policies such as for Will-Call orders, load limits, additional products • Coordinates communications with internal departments to meet customer and Company needs • Input for decisions concerning delivery commitments, production needs and plant capabilities • Assists with basic quality and service issues at the job site via phone. • Supplies customers with product and delivery information • Responsible for learning all aspects of the Command Alkon/Command Concrete system • Other duties as assigned Preferred Education and Experience • High School or GED equivalent required.
