Lead and manage production employees, ensure product quality and safety, assign duties, improve production efficiency, and maintain clean and safe work environment. | 3 years manufacturing experience, problem solving and communication skills, basic computer proficiency, and ability to lead a team in a production environment. | SUMMARY: The Production Group Lead (MPS Team Leader) has general oversight of employees on a day-to-day basis by making job assignments, informing employees of daily production requirements, and ensuring that operator efficiency is achieved. Incumbent will provide leadership to supervised employees by exercising good communication techniques, supporting the company’s policies and procedures, and treating all employees fairly and in accordance with MAHLE standards as well as MPS (MAHLE Production System). ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: • Responsible for promoting a safe and productive work environment. • Follow all Quality requirements and the MPS (MAHLE Production System) Standards. • Inspects products to verify conformance to specifications and directs set up and adjustment of machinery and equipment. • Interprets specifications/job orders to employees and assigns duties. • Schedules manpower requirements. • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, product quality, safety and morale. • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency and safety of the department. • Trains new or newly assigned employees on their job duties and job responsibilities, including the quality and safety aspects of their job. • Performs activities of supervised employees approximately 30% of the time by breaking employees and filling in as necessary. • Reviews process documents for accuracy and completeness. • Supports and completes 5s audits as required. • Maintain clean, organized, safe working environment with equipment and materials located in proper locations accordance with 5S standards inside and outside of facility. • Excellent attendance record. • Ability to work in a team environment. • Other duties assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: • 3 years’ experience in manufacturing preferred. • Analysis, problem solving, process and troubleshooting skills. • Communication / inter-personal skills. • Organized and possess good decision-making skills. • Ability to operate email system, prepare basic presentation materials using Excel and PowerPoint. • Basic computer skills.
