The Marketing Manager, Content and Experiential Marketing Strategy is responsible for developing and executing integrated content marketing strategies that captivate and engage prospects and customers, positively impacting pipeline and retention. This role develops content strategies that create emotional connections to support and publicize marketing campaign tactics, including live and virtual events, as well as compelling content that brings the story of Macmillan Learning and its product portfolios to life. You'll work closely with cross-functional teams to orchestrate content that is optimized for web and digital access, as well as in-person campaign activities, to drive engagement, improve key customer journey conversions, build brand loyalty, and create lasting relationships with our key audiences. This position requires strategic thinking combined with hands-on execution skills, as you'll be responsible for everything from content strategy development to content creation. You'll leverage both digital and physical touchpoints to create multi-sensory experiences that showcase the company's product portfolio while ensuring every interaction is authentic, human-centered, valuable to our audiences, and aligned with our brand voice. The Content Marketing Strategist plays a critical role in transforming how prospects and customers experience our brand by creating unforgettable and valuable content that sparks conversations, drives social sharing, and builds passionate brand advocacy. This role directly impacts brand awareness, customer engagement, and pipeline generation while establishing our organization as an innovative leader in creating meaningful, human-centered experiences in our markets. This role does not currently have managerial duties. This may change in the future to indirect supervision of Marketing Assistants and freelancers, based on business needs. Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Content Creation • Owns and executes content strategy in support of revenue generation, pipeline support, and brand awareness. • Create content marketing assets aligned to the where people are and the type of information they are seeking at every point in the customer journey. • Collaborate with Product Marketing to develop content marketing assets that accurately reflect the product's positioning, messaging, and differentiated value, as well as provide competitive product and feature comparisons. • Create content that supports both the acquisition of new customers and the engagement of existing customers by enhancing product understanding, driving deeper usage, and reinforcing the perceived value. Content Strategy & Storytelling • Develop compelling content strategies that support experiential marketing initiatives across all customer journey stages. • Create storytelling frameworks and brand narratives that translate into engaging experiential content and event themes. • Produce content assets that ensure consistent messaging across web, social, and live event touchpoints. • Develop content personalization strategies that adapt the messaging in content marketing assets to audience segments and experiential context. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management • Partner with Brand Experience, Channel Strategy, Field Marketing, and Communications teams to amplify content marketing across all brand touchpoints. • Collaborate with Field Marketing teams to align content planning with pipeline priorities. • Work with Product Marketing to ensure accurate product positioning and messaging integration in content marketing assets. • Coordinate with Customer Success and Campaign Strategy teams to develop content marketing assets to support for customer retention and advocacy. Performance Measurement & Experience Optimization • Track and analyze content marketing performance metrics including views, engagement, brand sentiment, and social media amplification. • Develop measurement frameworks for content marketing ROI that account for both quantitative metrics and qualitative brand impact. • Conduct surveys and interviews to inform future content marketing strategies. • Monitor social media mentions, user-generated content, and viral sharing resulting from experiential activations. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree. • A minimum of 2 years experience as a Marketing Manager or Communications professional. • At least 1 year Project management experience. • Minimum 1 year Video marketing/short form video experience. • New media (organic social, podcast, social media) content strategy and execution. • Strong desire for, and experience with Cross-functional collaboration. • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills. Preferred Qualifications: • Generative AI supported workflows. • Collaborative presence and approach • Excellent Attention to detail Salary Range: $75,000 - $95,000/year Exemption Status: Exempt Physical Requirements: Requires periods of close concentration; must be able to multi-task; must be able to travel occasionally; work overtime - more than 40 hours a week - regularly, as needed The position is eligible for remote employment, excluding the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, Nevada, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming. Collaboration, Planning & PD • Maintain open, clear communication with supporting teams (Customer Experience, Marketing, Editorial, Contracts teams, etc.) and present opportunities with data-driven support. • Work closely with the Director of High School, Sales Managers, Marketing, and Editorial to ensure that a shared vision, common goals, and macro strategies remain intact and are achieved. • Resolve challenges with cross-functional teams constructively, escalating when necessary. • Work collaboratively with the Western regional manager and ensure cohesion between the regions. • Contribute and drive major initiatives in an effort to move the high school sales force or broader organization forward. • Develop, implement and drive a goal-oriented business plan geared towards maximizing the potential of the BFW product list and of each Sales Representative and Sales Territory within region. • Actively participate and contribute in the planning and implementation of regional and national sales meetings, marketing planning meetings, author meetings, training events, and other sales-related events. • Manage and track travel & entertainment (T&E) activities and remain within budget Forecasting, Goal Setting and Analyzing • Deliver accurate forecasts on an ongoing basis and use them to adjust strategy and action plan. • Provide reliable goal-setting projections based on pipeline and knowledge of the region. • Continuously monitor sales performance against targets and adjust strategy as needed. • Complete weekly pipeline reporting on time, providing insights into movement, trends, and areas of opportunity. • Identify and escalate at-risk territories (pipeline coverage gaps, stalled opportunities, territory maintenance needs) to the Sales Director and/or Specialist, along with proposed solutions. • Hold sales representatives accountable for accurate and timely pipeline tracking and documentation. • Come prepared to weekly calls with director and all other internal meetings with focus and data driven talking points. Required Qualifications: • Bachelor's Degree. • 5 years' work experience in a Sales environment. • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written. • Familiarity with Salesforce, including comfort and ability in generating and reading SFDC reports. • Lives within region Preferred Qualifications: • Publishing experience, Sales experience and management experience preferred. • Enthusiastic adopter of emerging sales technologies, analytics platforms, or CRM tools. • Demonstrated commitment to staying ahead of industry trends in sales, education, or publishing technology through conferences, peer networks, or personal learning. • Willingness to pilot new ideas or technologies, even when outcomes are uncertain, in pursuit of breakthrough customer or team impact.
