Develop and deliver health education programs, coordinate outreach and community events, build partnerships, assess health literacy, and promote wellness initiatives. | Bachelor's degree in health-related field, 1-3 years experience in health education or outreach, knowledge of disability health challenges, strong communication and organizational skills. | We are seeking a passionate and motivated Health Educator / Outreach Coordinator to lead public health education initiatives and strengthen connections within the communities we serve. This role involves planning and delivering educational sessions, conducting outreach to underserved populations, and promoting wellness, accessibility, and inclusion. This is an excellent opportunity for a public health professional who wants to make a direct impact in the nonprofit and disability services sector. Key Responsibilities Develop and deliver health education programs for clients, families, and community members Coordinate outreach activities, workshops, and community events Build relationships with local organizations, schools, and public health agencies Assess health literacy needs and tailor educational content accordingly Collaborate with internal teams to integrate health education into existing services Maintain records, collect program data, and assist with reporting to funders Promote public awareness of MAB’s programs through presentations, printed materials, and social media Ensure culturally competent and accessible delivery of health information Support wellness, mental health, nutrition, and chronic disease prevention efforts ✅ Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Public Health, Health Education, Social Work, or related field (Master’s preferred) At least 1–3 years of experience in health education, outreach, or community health Knowledge of disability-related health challenges and public health best practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Experience working with diverse, underserved, or marginalized communities Comfortable facilitating group presentations and one-on-one education sessions Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Bilingual or multilingual skills a plus (especially Spanish, Haitian Creole, or ASL) Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to community sites (if not remote) 🎁 Benefits Competitive hourly pay ($25–$32/hour) Health, dental, and vision insurance (for eligible employees) Generous PTO, holidays, and sick leave Flexible scheduling (hybrid or field-based work available) Professional development and training opportunities Supportive and inclusive work culture Meaningful work that improves lives in local communities
