Develop and implement technology solutions, automate workflows, and manage data and applications within the Resilience team. | Minimum six years of experience supporting software applications, with skills in web development, Power Platform, and relational databases, along with relevant education or certifications. | About the position At LCRA, we are seeking a motivated and technical individual to join our Resilience team as a dynamic Application/Systems Administrator. In this position you will utilize Power Automate, PowerApps, Power BI, web applications, UI/UX tools, etc. to develop and implement new applications, databases, and SharePoint sites, workflows and data management. We are looking for a driven individual to become our in-house expert. You'll work closely with other teams to develop robust solutions, automate routine tasks, and troubleshoot with precision. This role brings an opportunity to develop and deploy solutions to upgrade systems, optimize performance, and improve usability and reliability. Responsibilities • Support overall activities of LCRA’s Resilience department, by designing and implementing technology solutions and the application of those solutions, providing work management solutions, optimization, and data to the organization. • Develop and oversee the Resilience Power Platform architecture and implementation plans and ensure data governance best practices. • Partner with internal and external teams to establish and design, develop, implement, and maintain short- and long-term technology solutions. • Apply knowledge of web applications, databases, Power Platforms, and technology architecture to ensure effective integration for technology implementations and enhancements. • Administer software applications in areas such as configuration, deployment, installation, tuning, monitoring, maintenance, updating, documentation and data archiving. May assist in the design and implements backup, recovery, disaster recovery and monitoring plan for software applications. • Provide technical assistance, customer service and problem resolution for applications supported. • Develop and run queries and other reporting for users. • Pursue new technologies, knowledge, training and problem resolutions and researches, tests and develops these technologies. • Plan and coordinate software application projects and provide documentation for projects. Conduct team meetings, provide task management, estimate and define project timelines, allocate resources, prioritize work, and manage the work package as assigned under periodic review. • Demonstrate the ability to foster effective relationships and provide excellent customer service. Advocate throughout Resilience to design and onboard modern technologies. Provide oversight for writing, designing and implementing procedures, plans, training and other documentation to ensure effective change management for new technology implementations and system enhancements. • Adhere to NERC CIP (Critical Infrastructure Protection) Standards, NIST (National Institute of standards and Technology), ISA (Instrumentation, Systems, and Automation Society), and IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) as applicable to application supported. Requirements • Six or more years of experience in providing troubleshooting, configuration, administration and support for software applications or relevant experience. A degree(s) in computer science, information technology or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. Nice-to-haves • Web Development Experience: Working experience building web applications (HTML, CSS, etc.) • Experience with Relational Databases: Solid understanding of relational databases and their structures (e.g., star schema) and their relevance to Power Platform development Front-End Development: Experience developing front ends (UI/UX) • Experience with PowerApps: Comfortable with coding in Power Fx (back-end coding platform for PowerApps); Thorough understanding of the various types of variables in PowerApps and their usage; Understanding of how to create scalable, performant interfaces; Ability to articulate the application journey from both a developer and user experience perspective; Experience connecting and working with various data sources, with a focus on SharePoint. • Power Automate Experience: Solid knowledge of how Power Automate relates to other tools in the stack (PowerApps and Power BI); Ability to articulate coding practices, including encapsulating logic and building in error handling; Methodology for moving automations between environments without modifying flows for environment-specific dependencies. • Power BI Experience: Solid understanding of connecting to various data sources (Excel, SQL, SharePoint, Oracle, web APIs, etc.); Proven proficiency in PowerQuery (Power BI’s back-end data preparation scripting language); Experience creating reports and dashboards, understanding the pros and cons of each; Familiarity with the concept of shared data sources, including usage and risk; Proven methodology for creating modular reports that can be migrated between workspaces with minimal modification. As a leader in our internal substation construction team, you will have the opportunity to travel across Central Texas to various work sites (with travel accommodations provided). You will work under the direction of a Field Supervisor to assist with coordination and supervision of skilled substation construction teams and provide valuable training through on-the-job experiences. This position occasionally requires direct supervision of field construction crews, leading assigned daily tasks with crew of electricians, monitoring progress, and reporting status updates within provided project scope and scheduled duration. A degree(s) in electrical power theory, electronics, instrumentation, controls, industrial or mechanical maintenance or relevant field may be substituted per LCRA guidelines for certain years of experience. • Class A Texas commercial driver’s license You are a great fit with: • Completion of Northwestern Lineman College training curriculum or other Journeyman level apprentice training in electric utility body of knowledge. • More than four years of field related experience at LCRA. • More than one year of experience in a formal leadership role with direct reports. • Successful experience with project-based work. • Diverse experience or knowledge of different field utility functions including systems controls and protective relaying, substation equipment maintenance, equipment diagnostics and commissioning, project management, substation engineering or design.
