The Global Head Transformation is a key member of the Global MSAT Team Advanced Synthesis (ADS) and responsible for driving transformation initiatives across the global ADS site network. This role accelerates productivity improvements, foster operational excellence, and lead digitalization and training programs that enable sustainable performance and innovation, supporting Lonza’s long‑term strategic growth. Key Responsibilities: Lead the global transformation strategy for ADS operations, including long‑term roadmap, prioritization, governance, and execution of critical initiatives that shape the network’s future. Drive and sustain Operational Excellence and productivity improvement programs aligned with strategic business priorities, delivering measurable gains in efficiency, cost reduction, and reliability. Champion digitalization by introducing and scaling advanced digital tools and systems that enhance process performance, data integrity, and operational flexibility across sites. Develop, implement, and manage global training frameworks that build strong technical and operational capabilities across the workforce to meet evolving technology needs. Identify, prioritize, and deliver high‑impact cross‑functional projects using LBMS principles to ensure timely, sustainable outcomes. Lead and mentor local OE, Training, and Transformation leaders, fostering a harmonized, high‑performing, and collaborative network culture. Maintain strong communication channels between senior leadership and site teams, ensuring transparency, alignment, and effective governance. Monitor, track, and report progress of strategic initiatives to global stakeholders, ensuring accountability and informed decision‑making. Partner closely across MSAT, EHS, Quality, Regulatory, Engineering, and Operations to drive consistency, compliance, and best‑practice adoption across the ADS network. Key Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or related field; Master’s degree or eMBA preferred. Extensive experience (+10 years) in Manufacturing, Operations, MSAT, Engineering, or Operational Excellence. Proven track record in leading global transformation initiatives, operational excellence programs, and productivity improvements in complex manufacturing environments. Strong expertise in Lean, Six Sigma, continuous improvement methodologies; green or black belt certification preferred. Solid understanding of digitalization strategies and ability to deploy digital tools in manufacturing environments. Demonstrated leadership experience in global or multi‑site settings, with the ability to motivate, influence, and develop diverse teams. Strong business acumen with capability to translate strategy into actionable, measurable outcomes. Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across functions and regions. Strong understanding of GMP and global regulatory frameworks, with experience supporting compliant operations. The actual location of this job is in Basel, Switzerland and/or in Walkersville, USA. The Director of Procurement will identify and deliver value based on category management excellence, specific knowledge of Bioprocessing raw materials markets and suppliers and through applying a professional and strategic approach to manage associated external spend. This person will also drive category expertise through an understanding of required technologies, geographical spread, supply markets & trends, cost drivers and the impact to Lonza’s business model. What you will get: The full-time base annual salary for this position is expected to range between $152,000 and $215,000 per year. This Director, Account Management role within Capsules Health & Ingredients is a key growth driver for Lonza’s Pharma Services Business Unit. The position is responsible for building and executing the Pharma Services strategic plan to expand our global presence in oral and inhalation drug delivery, while identifying opportunities for innovation in emerging technologies. With a focus on acquiring new accounts and strengthening existing client partnerships, this role will lead sales growth and pipeline development across the Northeast and Midwest regions. Serving as the primary point of contact for clients and prospects, the incumbent will be accountable for delivering approximately $8M USD in annual revenue and securing at least 10 new programs, ensuring long-term success through expansion, retention, and strategic relationship management. This is a remote position based in the Mid-Atlantic area, requiring a professional home office with reliable high-speed internet for confidential virtual meetings. The role requires strong self-management to work effectively across global time zones in a fast-paced, results-driven environment. The position involves regular travel (up to 40%) for client meetings, internal events, industry conferences, and site visits—including laboratories, cleanrooms, and GMP manufacturing areas—with appropriate PPE as needed. As required by law in this state, the quoted salary range for this remote position is $229,000.00 – $254,000.00. We use broad salary ranges that reflect the competitive market for similar jobs, provide sufficient opportunity for growth as you gain experience and expand responsibilities; while also allowing for differentiation on performance based on the breadth of our ranges, most new hires will start at the company between the lower and the middle part of the applicable range. We tailor our offers within the range based on job-related factors, including organizational needs, internal equity, market data, geographic area and the selected candidate’s experience, education, industry knowledge, location, technical and/or communication skills and other factors that may prove relevant during the selection process. This range is only inclusive of base salary, and base pay is just one component of Lonza’s total compensation package for employees.
