What You’ll Deliver Lead the design and delivery of scalable software solutions that drive customer value across Litera's legal technology portfolio. Establish technical direction and architectural standards that improve system reliability, performance, security, and long-term maintainability. Accelerate product development through the adoption of AI-powered engineering tools, modern development practices, and continuous improvement initiatives. Partner with Product, Design, Engineering leadership, and cross-functional stakeholders to align technical execution with business goals and strategic priorities. What You’ll Bring Must-Haves: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 5–7+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record of delivering complex, production-scale applications and SaaS products. Strong expertise developing full-stack applications, APIs, and cloud-based solutions using modern technologies such as Node.js, React, .NET/C#, TypeScript, and related frameworks. Experience providing technical leadership through architecture decisions, code reviews, engineering standards, and mentoring developers. Hands-on experience with cloud platforms, DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, containerization, and scalable system design. Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with an AI-first mindset and a demonstrated ability to drive results in fast-paced environments. Nice to Haves: Experience with microservices, event-driven architectures, distributed systems, and other modern application design patterns. Experience integrating AI, GenAI, or machine learning capabilities into software products or engineering workflows. Familiarity with legal technology, professional services software, data analytics platforms, or other complex B2B SaaS environments. Experience leading distributed teams, operating high-availability cloud applications, implementing secure development practices, or driving software quality through observability and test automation tools. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, education, and other relevant qualifications. This role is also eligible to participate in a company bonus plan. In addition to base salary, Litera offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, a 401(k) with company match, and incentive and recognition programs. A track record of owning complex work end-to-end, from technical design through delivery and production support. Strong engineering judgment, including the ability to make pragmatic tradeoffs around quality, speed, maintainability, and customer impact. A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring engineers, raising team standards, and communicating effectively across Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders.
