Oversee education programs supporting youth experiencing homelessness, including staff supervision, program development, and partnership building. | Requires a BA in Education, Social Work, or related field, with at least 3 years in educational or workforce development, preferably with homeless or at-risk youth. | Since 1984, Larkin Street Youth Services has helped more than 75,000 young adults in San Francisco with outreach, shelter, housing, education, employment, healthcare, and other services. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Under the guidance of the Associate Director of Arts and Education, the Program Manager of Academic Support oversees the operations of education programs that connect youth experiencing homelessness to academic milestones, including preparing for and taking the GED, applying to post-secondary education and succeeding in college. Daily tasks include supervision for union line staff performing direct client services, program and curricula development, budget management, events planning and direct services work as needed. The role works closely with the Program Manager of both Workforce and Arts staff. This is a full-time position, eligible for full benefits. Your responsibilities: Support in development and refinement of academic support programs for youth experiencing homelessness, focusing on trauma-informed and harm reduction best practices Re-evaluate program needs to increase program engagement Provide staff-centered supervision for team of union line staff, including weekly one-on-ones, regular team meetings, job coaching and professional development opportunities Help plan and hold educational events for youth at Larkin Street Youth Service’s housing sites and community centers Collaborate with internal departments, including Larkin Street Academy’s workforce and arts programs, and Larkin Street housing sites located throughout San Francisco Develop partnerships with external non-profits, colleges, and universities Monitor data entry submission for all team members, ensuring periodic and timely entry Write monthly State of Union reports documenting successes in program operations Manage budget with a combination of restricted and unrestricted funding sources, completing monthly expense reports and assisting with annual budget development Support and maintain the day-to-day operations and flow of the Larkin Street Academy milieu Attend regular agency meetings, including program, department, leadership and all-staff Collaborate and coordinate with other staff and programs in support of clients experiencing special challenges Responsible for screening candidates, interviewing and onboarding Academic Support staff, and assisting with interviewing for other Larkin Street Youth Services positions Share in on-call rotation with other Larkin Street Youth Services Program Management, assisting in after-hours issues within Larkin Street housing sites Perform tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner, complying with agency policies and standards and conforming to the requirements of this job description. Other duties as required. WHO YOU ARE: You are passionate about the Larkin Street Youth Services mission to end youth homelessness. You hold a BA Degree in Education, Social Work, or other related field required. Equivalent combination of work and experience will be considered. You have at least 3 years experience in educational/workforce development, and/or supported vocational services required. You have previous experience working with homeless, at-risk, and runaway youth preferred. You are eager to work with Transitional Aged Youth (TAY), aged 18 to 25 of diverse backgrounds, similar to the client base at Larkin Street Youth Services. You are a self-starter and team player. Your colleagues describe you as organized and collaborative. Your Spanish language skills are preferred, but not required. You work best in a hybrid working environment with one day per week work-from-home. You are willing to serve as an After Hours On-Call Supervisor for 7 days, every 6-8 weeks. WHAT YOU'LL DO: Under the guidance of the Associate Director, the Program Manager of Transitional Living Program provides leadership and oversight to programs supporting young adults exiting homelessness. The Program Manager is responsible for the hiring; training and supervision of all program staff, some program development and evaluation, quality, and coordinated service delivery within a congregate living setting for transition-aged youth. In addition, the Program Manager develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community providers, including referral agencies, and resource agencies. This is a full-time position, eligible for full benefits. Your responsibilities: • Oversee day-to-day operations of program services for youth. • Ensure the provision of basic services, special projects/activities, and an emotionally and physically safe, clean, and supportive environment. • Provide regular supervision for residential counselors and case managers. • Take primary responsibility for the effective operation of all client services. • Supervise best practices for Residential Counselors and Case Manager service delivery. • Facilitate staff meetings. • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, training, and ongoing development of Program staff. • Manage program budget and ensure agency procedures are followed. • Coordinate intakes and assessments, and support case managers in keeping charts and paperwork up-to-date and complete. • Coordinate Program coverage and scheduling. • Complete monthly reports and ensure timely and accurate data collection procedures. • Represent the agency at community meetings/activities, when appropriate. • Attend and participate in all agency management meetings. • Hold On-Call manager responsibilities as assigned and scheduled in rotation.
